I think that football grad assistant is what Tommy Rees should be. He's the guy who looks/sounds like a coach to me. I could also imagine KLM as a DLine coach with his brains and up-through-the-ranks knowledge. Robbie? I don't know. Fantastic personality. Probably would be a great recruiter.

I wouldnt be to quick to count out Robby Toma with the NFL-say what you want about size but all this guy does is MAKE PLAYS - I cant count the times he came up with a big catch to bail ND out the last two years.
Mike Mayock loved him, I respect his opinion. He also kept Davonte Neal on the bench-though I am hoping Neal has bigtime breakout year at the slot.

This on all accounts. I don't really know enough about Kappy as a coach, but I have said for a long time that Tommy would make a great coach. I'm also not necessarily saying Toma would be a good coach, but he could make an impact with recruiting and creating those relationships. So he could be around the program as a grad assistantbreaking down film or something. The kid deserves to be at ND.

I would say that I HOPE Robby makes it...but he's no Welker or Woodhead.

He's got his work cut out for him, and it's not impossible, but I'll throw my money down on someone else being the "Welker" this year over Toma.

i agree with you, BUT he really wasnt expected to do anything at notre dame other than keep teo from being homesick...but he proved to be very valuable...i cant count this kid out of anything anymore...

Could be good in the same role David Grimes started in.

The two players whose numbers were the flashiest -- Te'o's longtime sidekick, the 5-9, 180-pound Toma, and punter Ben Turk -- are still long shots to get drafted anyway. Toma ran the best 40 of any of the Irish players at 4.5 flat.

Not a bad career for a 'throw in' offer that he apparently was... I'm sure someone will give him a chance.

kinda ridiculous he hasnt been signed by anyone yet..considering guys who have never even played football or did so at NAIA or div3 or even in Canada have... :/

Ben Turk too, thought he would be worth a shot somewhere.

Turk wouldn't be picked up. There are probably way lower division punters who are better. I'm a little surprised Toma hasn't been signed, if only because he had a solid 40 time.

Turk was sketchy at best at ND. Consistent 30 yard punts with .5 second hang times will not work in the NFL, unless it was in specialty situations.

invited to rookie mini camp, does this mean he will have to earn a UDFA contract?

After watching Swope drop (faster, stronger, better producton), I knew Toma wasn't gonna get picked.

And I agree with the guys above, could be a great recruiter or sideline guy

presume hes going there for a workout? All he needs is a chance to compete in TC for somebody
