Top 10 offensive lineman from The Opening

8. Quenton Nelson, OT, Red Bank (N.J.) Catholic – Nelson opened up the run-block session by teaming with Toa Lobendahn to put the nation’s No. 1 player on his back. He continued a strong effort into pass blocking. While Derek Barnett challenged him with a strong outside speed rush followed by a bull-rush, Nelson proved up to the task on both attempts. Later in the day Nelson stymied an athletic Chad Thomas. The reps proved that Nelson has elite athleticism at the tackle position and looks capable against any edge rusher.

Impressive.

Also for those to lazy to click the link Mama was #2 behind Toa Lobendahn (OG, #172 Overall 247, #225 Composite; #11 and #13 at Guard respectively).

Here is what they say about Mama:

The first play of the day for Mama was a huge collision in a run-block drill in which he put five-star Andrew Brown on his back. The rest of the day was equally impressive. Mama is so huge and strong that he doesn’t have to be overly quick on the edge because all he has to do is touch you to disrupt your path in a big way. It’s a spectacle to watch Mama on every rep and he rarely disappoints.

And USC, at the program's lowest point in more than a decade, is still set to inherit this kid.

Top 10 defensive linemen from The Opening

Defensive Tackle

1- Thomas Holley, Brooklyn (N.Y.) Abraham Lincoln- Holley was the most consistently good performer during contact drills and one-on-ones. The 6-foot-4, 303-pounder is polished, agile, strong and athletic. His good testing numbers on Monday (5.19 in the 40-yard dash, 4.72 shuttle, 42 power ball) are an indication of his athleticism. What perhaps surprised was his advanced ability technique-wise in the actual football work. On the recruiting front, Holley recently visited Florida, Florida State and Miami. Notre Dame, Alabama, Penn State and a host of others are in the mix. The Irish signed Ishaq Williams out of Abraham Lincoln a few years back and most believe Notre Dame is the team to beat.

Khaliel Rodgers will be there with him. That could be a nasty guard combo. Let's hope kiffy can keep his job

Either way is fine. Another terrible season either way, possibly with a recruiting fallout from a coaching change.

I think whenever they can him we will see a recruiting boom for U$C. It seems to be the trend for major programs - bring in the new coach and start landing crazy talent to close one class and start another quality one right behind that.

Ball hit George Campbell right in the hands, messed it up and resulted in a INT. he has great size and athleticism but apparently has horrible hands. TJ said like Artavis Scott, academics are a problem with him and ND.

ND 2015 target Christian Kirk w/ the TD. He'll probably visit this summer.

From the reports on ISD sounds like Kizer started out shaky, was good in the middle and ended shaky. He was 6-11 w/ a TD.

I hate when players do the hat dance.

Edit: For those not watching ESPNU right now, Springs pretended to put a Texas hat on and then switched it to Oregon. Just pick a damn hat. No need to 'trick' everyone.

That's nice to see, but the more I hear from Dilfer, the less I care about his opinion.

Dilfer LOVES Notre Dame, so that alone is enough for me to like him..

Personally, I think Dilfer is a hell of an analyst.

I think he does a good job as a NFL analyst on ESPN. I can't really explain what it is, but there's something about him that just annoys me. Maybe it's because he's new to this and I view him more as an ESPN personality/former player trying to coach rather than a natural coach. The guy definitely knows what he's talking about though.

I was unaware of this. Perhaps I will give him another chance.
