Hunter and Anzalone are the obvious heart-breakers, but I asked because I can't remember any battles that we've won. Hounshell flipped after Meyer's sudden departure, so he's probably an exception.

I think you're right. I can't recall going head to head for a recruit and winning out over Florida. Gotta do work. And for God's sake, keep Tom Lemming away from all news regarding Carter.

Well Jaylon and Bryant both had offers from Florida. But I think that you mean a highly contested battle and I can't think of any.

Andrew Hendrix was being pursued hard by Florida and took an official that he said almost flipped him. But he chose ND.

STL, you mentioned in Okwara's thread the staff moved him to DE to help entice Williams in regards to the CAT depth. I'm assuming this is the case with Carter as well? Or is the depth chart not as big of a concern for Lorenzo...?

This kid is not even playing this year. I believe that his last minute decision was our lucky day. Talked to a couple from Pennsylvania who were not that impressed with his h. s. play, his accolades notwithstanding. I am seeing a common theme with, "Father Knows Best" recruits.

Honestly, Hunter didn't turn out to be the player Irish fans expected either, did he? Don't know if that was unreal expectations or overrated recruiting hype!

Agree. Not in a "sour grapes" sense either. One could simply look back in AA's thread. I said from early on that I wasn't even a big fan of his tape. He had great measurables, but he simply doesn't stand out in his film. I have heard other notice the same thing. He has good stats, great measurables, but didn't have good film.

Told UF 247 reporter tonight that Florida is the only OV locked in and they are positioning themselves to be his leader. Said he does want to visit ND again but doesn't know if it will be an OV or not.
