@GB6for6: Indiana what it do! Thank You God

Legend says young greg Bryant ran from the swamps of Florida to northern Indiana.

In my best Morgan freeman voice.

Better have those refs from the Pitt game when we run the Wild Chocolate with Nix + Bryant.

This makes me sentimental, remembering how excited I was the first week I got on campus my freshman year of college. It will only get better for #1 once the rest of the freshmen general student body gets to school and the actual season gets started. On a related note I hope he gets calculus out of the way over the summer before the season starts.

Always imagine its quite the culture shock to these kids. Like look who Corey Robinson and Steve Elmer were hangin out with as EEs. No offense to these kids but they aren't exactly "athletes"

Part of what makes Notre Dame special.

Yup, instead of getting segregated with athletes in athlete only dorms and getting funneled into athlete only EVERYTHING you're actually a real student. Or heaven forbid you're Johnny Manziel who takes ZERO classes on campus. So in the end you're much better adjusted when you have to then transition into real life... because you're interacting daily with real, intelligent people in real classes where real performance/collaboration/etc. is required.

Thing about Greg is that he stayed in contact with Alford the whole process. (Very much like what Alford does with a lot of the kids he recruits.) Listening to Alford at the coaches clinic, he made it sound like he just kept giving Greg advice on being successful in life and how to be a good person. He decided to be a better person, and he figured that the best place to do that was at ND.

I'm happy for Greg and his choice to be at ND, and I hope he keeps loving it at Notre Dame and keeps growing into that man he wants to be.

I also hope he rushes for 2000 yards and scores 29 TDs.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to go to ND. But this is one of the many reasons why I'm a huge fan. Too many times athletes get pampered and preferential treatment in college. It sets them up for a harsh reality when they try to go out and live a normal life. At ND, athletes get to be exactly what they are...Student-athletes...college kids, being college kids, around other college kids. It's a great thing.
