He was apparently ready to commit to Kentucky on the 30th but then backed off and said he wanted to take visits to Ole Miss and Mich St. I think this guy has a lot of upside and may be a little underrated at this point. The more schools see him the more big time offers he is getting.

I would feel a little better if O$U offered. He still would be a great pickup in the secondary.

Just offered. Wiltfong stated that this is an offer West really wanted. He's been very impressive at the two or three camps he's been to this offseason. Big strong kid that moves well.

rtrn2glory just peed himself a little...

rtrn2glory right now though.....

Targeting a June 20th visit and said ND is "up there" in terms of interest and he knows he'd be set for life w/ a degree from ND per 247. ND is the only school recruiting him as a CB per Rivals.

TJ34 mentioned multiple guys that are CB/S recruits but in our scheme could see a lot of team at Nickel, guys like West, Gibson, Quincy Wilson and Baker

9 analysts just put in a Crystal Ball prediction for ND.

That escalated quickly

Yeah I was going to say after watching his tape he definitely looks like a corner prospect for ND, not a safety. I like him as a little quicker Tony Hurd Jr.

In the rivals camp footage of him you can really see what your talking about. Good feet in his back pedal and he turns his hips well for being such a big kid. I'm hoping we put the fullcourt press on, now. TJ, also mentioned that we'll only be taking 3 DB/S this cycle if anyone was wondering.

you guys are silly :)

reason I stay up to date with this kid is we've thrown 7 on 7s against him the past few summers and I've gotten an up close look at him and his skills.

he's running track this spring too so I've gotten a chance to see him run and how much bigger he's gotten. the dudes got an OLB's body, but he's a DB. Also, know his head coach a bit so i'll dig up anything I can the next few months.

sorry if I seemed school girly, that wasn't the original intention, just tried to give updates best I could

Irish assistant coach Mike Elston told West earlier this week the staff was evaluating him, and on Friday, he told West to give him a call.

“He said my name was the first to be brought up in the defensive meeting,” West said. “That’s pretty big. It’s nice because they’re a lot of football players in the world.”

West was looking to visit Notre Dame in the past, but the trip never came to fruition. Now that he has an offer, he quickly scheduled a visit to South Bend on June 20, which the coaches told him will be a big day for visitors.
“It made me feel better [about postponing] because my dad told me this is going to happen,” West said. “I got some more colleges. It means a lot for real.”

Saw this guy play once last year and he can ball. Not sure what his 40 time is/was but he was certainly the quickest guy on the field. Just seems more of a CB than saftey. It's great that he's visiting in June.

Certainly thick upper body for a CB but probably a little small for S... definitely could see him in the nickel role similar to what Shumate played last year except permanently. Don't really know if he has the speed/quickness to be a CB outside of zone schemes... but we primarily play zone soooo...

11.1 is pretty solid but not blazing. Level of competition doesn't really matter, track is the ultimate one-man (or woman) sport in the sense that you're competing by yourself, for yourself.

A lot of runners like to run against the fastest people they can though because they think it makes them run faster.

I think 11.1 is plenty fast for a safety. You don't need to be the fastest guy on the field for that position.
