I think he's an exciting player regardless but I imagine he's on the small side for ILB.

id guess he would have to from 215 to like 245 when setting foot on campus as a frosh to be a fit at ILB for ND. Its a big leap for alot of kids

No, Kiffin hasn't even offered him, and Williams is openly pissed about it. He went to their junior day expecting an offer and it never came.

The thing with this kid is that right now, he believes the hype. He's got all these offers, so he knows he's good, and he acts like it. So at these 7 vs. 7 tournaments, he barely puts any effort in. I mean, why put the effort in when you already got the offers and the stars, right?

Last tourney, former USC star Chris Claiborne was his coach, and he was on Williams ALL DAY about his lack of effort. Had to pull him aside a few times, etc. how do you not play hard for a former NFL player???

I didn't even know we were recruiting him until I saw this thread, and now I'm happy we didn't make his top 16. Kid would die playing for Kelly and Diaco.

Now this IMO is the type of OV that Lax and I had a discussion about, he shouldn't be allowed to OV IMO. He doesn't have an offer and we aren't in his Top 16. It's for fun, probably tagging along with Adoree Jackson

You may be jumping the gun with this statement. Do we have confirmation the staff will allow it or do we have a kid who says he will use one of his five OVs to visit a team not even in his top 16? I doubt he makes it to campus.

This is the type of kid that could be a poison on the team. If he displays a lack of heart, character, and work ethic now, wait till he gets an offer and feels entitled. I say pass on him and pass quickly.

I could be wrong, but was it John Theus? Didn't that kid take an OV to basically babysit Keith Marshal and make sure he didn't go to ND and instead picked UGA?

Either that, or one of the many Cali kids that came out for the SC/ND game.

The giant recruiting weekends worry me for this reason alone. You could score big, or you could have one kid ruin the whole thing by getting in the ears of others and negatively recruiting ND.

couldn't you argue that this is a potential problem for any major university that has big recruiting weekends. I definitely agree with you but I would have to guess that this happens elsewhere too.

I'm sure it does. But there are some kids that blatantly visit for the "big" games. They're there to watch a game and really have no intention of attending that university. Having a big recruiting weekend with kids that have legitimate interest is one thing, but toss in a few that are there just for fun and it can cause problems. That's my point.
