Per Wiltfong ND knew the situation and has remained in touch anyways

Sorry if that's all the info you got but I gotta ask just in case... So like they knew he was going to get dismissed and still stayed in contact? OR they knew there was a chance he was going to get dismissed and stayed in contact?

Big Difference IMO.

That tells me a lot about the trust they have in this kid, and the way in which he is up front about things with the staff. May be better than our first conclusions, but still terrible news at the end of the school year.

Well he said that they knew "something was happening here" and remained in touch. As others have hinted about above, what is being floated around as to what happened does sound really bad.

That could be as simple as getting so many detention that lead to multiple suspensions that they cut ties, or as serious as fighting every third person through the door. Pretty vague.

Highly doubt Bishop Gorman dismissed their star RB for being late to class too much.....

yea being on Xavier's disciplinary board. I know it takes something pretty serious for an athlete to be dismissed. Again no judgments until we know and we might never know.

Not sure what to make of this:

Just going to quote myself b/c it may have gotten lost on the last page but I think it may explain his tweet. Who knows though.

Well once things settle, if it wasn't so bad, it will be interesting to see what state Nathan moves too. If it isn't to bad wouldn't it be a kick to see him move to Charlotte?

Seriously, I realize he can't transfer to a public school in Nv, but can he transfer to another Catholic school without losing a year? Is there another Catholic school?

not saying you are wrong or right but high schools don't make revenue off ticket sales to sports at least not individually. as far as i know ticket sales are split evenly amongst all schools. concessions are to official schools so if bishop Gorman thinks they can make a bunch of money off popcorn from Starks then i guess i could see why they would want him to stay.

I think of it being about less of what the school has to gain and more about the school knowing what's at stake for the kid. The adults at the school know what kind of an opportunity he has, so if they were willing to drop him even knowing that, it's not a good sign.

i agree but now you talking about a student and the institution not an athlete and a program. the school should have that in mind for all there students. so the school puts rules in place to protect all their students collectively not individually. if Starks broke a rule, most likely repeatedly, he deserves dismissal. the school would undermine itself by allowing rules to go broken to select individuals.

Pete Sampson seems to think ND will just give up recruiting him

Yikes well if it's as bad as the worst rumor on the BGI board, it's really bad, but of course you have to be really cautious with rumors. We'll see what happens.

nothing good on ISD forum either with a mod who claims to have a source at Gorman.

Well, Yuri was a complete douche. The most disrespectful HS athlete i ever seen. I'm sure Nathan is not like that.

Anyway, with Bryant-Folston last year and Hood now, the RB position is now secondary.

I went to a Catholic High school sometimes it's like a prison camp. Nobody got more dentitions than me, I had 67 tardies to first hour one semester. Washed tables on a daily basis, I won't jump to conclusions until we know why Nathaniel was kicked out of school.

He honestly seems like a great kid.

The person who won the "Bishop's Cross" (given to the student that the school feels embodies Christ the most) at my Catholic school was also the most promiscuous in the zip code. I should know, I dated her. :(

Just saying. Don't cast the first stone. It'll all come out if he's Yuri 2.0.

Apparently that first hour class was English.
