ISD did a really good job with their breakdown of Nic especially capturing his versatility. They rated him only below Luatua (and probably Shultz if you read between the lines)... I really like the potential upside of this addition. One of the better features of ISD are these "in the film room" features that capture how someone projects specifically for ND.

Also their eval was done off of sophomore film and he still had an equal/better eval to Blazevich. Will be interesting to see who ends up having a better career between Weishar and Bunting as they're both projects of sorts with high upside.

Welcome Nic...

That said...couldn't 247 do a better job of highlighting their prospectives??? Jesus.....Worst footage I've ever seen.

I didn't know if I was watching a great play or a monkey F***ing a football half the time. A circle around the player/a prompt....something. People are paying for the service..........Make it easier on your paying public, dolts!

247 has literally nothing to do with his film

The video made by 247 is derivative of Nic's Hudl account to make it easier for people (YouTube is easier to watch on compared to Hudl)

seems Nic has a sentimental pull to ND like Bunting did to Michigan...

I love the pickup and IMO he's more or less a carbon copy of Eifert.

Since last year when he emerged as a target for ND, I became a fan because from his film footage he reminded me of Eifert to the point that it was actually quite eerie as there game isn't similar it's almost exactly the same.

I just hope this doesn't cost ND with Mark Andrews. I think Nic can be Eifert but I believe Andrews is a totally different level of special.

Tyler was the best TE in the country. That's pretty special.

Edit: I guess you were comparing Weishar and Andrews

I'm more than a little surprised by the avalanche of TE commits today, but congrats to Nick! I'm glad we added another athletic guy to TEU.

Congrats, Nic!

How many TEs does the staff intend on signing this cycle? I'm assuming they'll still accept commitments from Luatua and Andrews just because they can play other positions (OLB and WR respectively)....correct?

Solid pick-up. I am glad he's Irish. He's someone of a project compared to some other TE prospects, but a 6'5" prospect with good hands that can move is not much of a risk!

Bye bye to Luatua and the rest of Tight Ends. Three good Tight Ends in a row with Heuerman, Smythe and Weishar. I'm happy with that.

Welcome aboard Nic

If he is truely only 200 pounds, I think it's 50/50 for if he is a TE or WR.

Rivals has him at 215 right now. He's not even a senior yet. He has 3 years to but on 40 lbs. He'll be fine!

EDIT: For the sake of keeping the thread more positive, I post that I just read that he is already significantly heavier and that this is definitely not a stretch offer.

I have no idea why you and like 3 other people are saying this. The staff is going to recruit Luatua and would take his committment. The staff want "Big Skill" guys and Luatua is just that. They might not put him at tight end, they might put him at DOG

Oh I totally agree, someone posted earlier saying that, in an interview, his head coach said that Nic was around 225-230. That is perfect for a high school tight end.

I was saying that if his body filled out at 220 or so, I wouldn't mind having two wide receivers at 6'5" (Corey and Nic)

If you were Tyler, look at the depth chart at the TE position. I'm 100 percent sure the staff is going to recruit him until the last breath but you can't blame Tyler if he goes to other school. I think is a Sony Michel situation with the current running backs at ND. So much talent at some position and everybody can not play.

He's not being recruited for just TE though.
