'14 FL OT K.C. McDermott (Miami Verbal)

Well we have already missed on Cole, Ross Pierschbacher and one or two other ones we were recruiting (Bauer maybe?). I still think that we are going to have a good O-line class but we keep barely missing out on some great ones.

To echo one of IM8's earlier posts, OL tend to commit earlier and stick. So while NSD may be a long way off, early misses at this position hurt more than others. It's especially difficult to pull together a quality OL class late in the cycle.

Good luck to KC at Miami. IMO someone leaked the news and his dad just wants KC to call ND staff to let them know. I am sure ND gave him a ton to think about but I think Miami has been the choice for years. Btw you guys say this recruitment will go on I don't believe so his family hates this process. ND will check in but I think he's been set for a while. Good luck to KC playing in front of 5 thousand fans.

The funny thing is that when Byrne committed and with Bivin, Montelus, and McGovern in this past years class Sapp said we would really start focusing on OT to fill out the rest of the OL class this year. Two of the three we have the best shot at are guards....

Very good point. Missing on KC is quite the let down. However, from what I've read we are recruiting Braden as an OT. Not that he should play there but that's what I've read.

Yes, but OSU reportedly has a huge lead for Jones right now. We'll have to blow him away to even make it a competitive race. Don't hold your breath.

Haha, yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Sapp did say that, and it is really not working out that way.

The other funny thing here is that when the 2013 OL class committed, I thought we had 4 tackles and 1 guard, so we would have to push for guards in 2014. I was a little surprised to learn that Sapp thought of both Bivin and McGovern as guards, so we would have to push for tackles in 2014.

We have to hope for Bars and then one of Mustipher/Smith... both of whom are really great guard prospects IMO. If we miss on Bars, expect us to look for someone not currently on the radar... maybe even Reilly Gibbons comes back into play, but I kinda doubt it.

Posts about TP's tweet yesterday were about speculation of the possible commitment of McDermott whereas your posts and the posts of GBdomer and Arrowryan were all specifically about TP and his credibility.

Beau I am going to respectfully disagree. I don't know what was actually posted but the fact that everytime someone questions TP you guys delete the posts is over the top. If someone (anyone, not just TP) is going to make predictions, then they open themselves up to criticism. If I came on here and posted that Brandon Dawkins was going to commit and then he chose USC, people on here would give me **** and the posts wouldn't be deleted (for proof see all of the jokes and comments about Epitome). I am not a fan of personal attacks but if it is constructive talks about TP than I think deleting them just sends the message that you guys are protecting him and treating him different from everyone else. Now having said that recruits threads aren't the place for it, so maybe we need a thread to discuss TP and his predictions.
