He was actually running with a parachute to disguise his scorching 4.24 40.

only thing that matters is that offer list. everybody wants the kid including us so i'd say he's legit.

The rule of thumb regarding recruiting profiles is to subtract an inch from height and 10lbs. off weight. You also have to figure that their 40s are handtimed. Add anywhere from .1 to .4 to their 40.

Any reason why?

I don't want to speak for him, but I just listened to the podcast with Blazevich's interview and he sounds like a perfect fit for ND. The only thing I heard that doesn't sound in our favor is that his brother goes to Clemson. That may hurt us but I think he will give us a fair look and it may be the difference. He also said he was at the NC game and he loved how Eifert was used! Both mom and dad will attend the Jr Day with him as well.

Listen to the pod cast on ISD, very well spoken kid. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders and would definitely fit in at ND. We'll see how his HS year plays out but I think we have a shot.
Some highlights-He’s parents and maybe a coach will be up for JR day and he may spend a few days. He wants to commit in May no later than June 1st. He wants to look at all programs based on academics (he’s thinking business), religious atmosphere and football program. He used to be a WR so he is comfortable to being in space, just moved to TE but likes the position.

So he would fit in or he would resist fitting in? I kid I kid.

Similiar to the interview with ISD. For anyone familiar with 24/7 is that Jason Sapp interviewing him (and Hood)?

He's a tough read but the fact that we were his last offer and the only school he hasn't visited from his top 6 could be taken as encourging or the oppisite depending on your perspective.

Just based on his personality, interests, priorities, etc. I think ND will be tough to beat. I was thinking as much throughout the interview. Right after the interview ended, Mike Frank seemed to get the same impression from him that I did. If ND is seriously interested and it seems like that's the case, I think ND has a good a shot as anyone. Also he seems like he'll be making a fairly early decision--before his senior season starts, if I remember correctly from the interview.

on ESPNU right now

Blazevich said his absolute deadline for a decision is June 1, but would like to have it done in April. He also handled himself very well.

i feel like when we get our QB for this class it'll be a lot easier to recruit WRs and TEs...seemed to help last year with malik

I'm hoping for Brandon Dawkins. His mechanics would need to be tuned up a bit but his size is what caught my eye.

TV had a numbers breakdown of positional needs/wants and FWIW, they had ND taking either 0 or 1 QB's this year. They mentioned Dawkins is being recruited, but the staff isn't going to go too much further down their list just to get a QB.

I really like that strategy, take this opportunity to be picky at the QB position

I'm okay with passing on a QB if Kiel stays an I'm sure that's how Kelly is thinking.

Not saying he won't be Irish but I think we need to temper the excitment on Blazevich, most think he will stay South.

We need to take 1 QB every year.
