Is it possible that guys like this may have part of the negotiantion between BK the admin? Maybe a border line kid that gets in going forward? Anyway, hope ND lands him.

Unreal. Apparently it is an NCAA rule that you can only send handwritten note cards. I love the loopholes in the NCAA bylaws.

"Institutional note cards may not exceed 8 1/2 by 11 inches when opened in full. In addition, such cards may only contain the institution's name and logo or an athletics logo on the outside, must be blank on the inside (one side of the card when opened in full) when produced and may include only handwritten information (e.g., words, illustrations) on the inside when provided to the recipients."

Didn't a recruit we were after get something that looked like a wanted poster? How does that fit in with this rule? Or any printed brochure on the university for that matter?

Dick Rod did that last year for Davonte Neal I believe. I doubt anybody cared whether it was a violation because Neal ended up at ND.

I think if I was a high-profile recruit I would go this route.

After watching this interview at the Core6 showcase from this past Sunday. I've all but written Clifton off. The ESPN guy even at the end tries to lead him into talking about ND, by saying are there any other schools in the midwest that you are interested in, even then he didn't mention ND. He did talk about pOSU, Ole Miss and LSU. Supposedly this kid grew up a Buckeye fan.

Yeah, and also emphasis on the "for now"... who knows how things may or may not change as the season plays out... but right now it seems we're squarely on the back burner.

I'm okay being on the back burner for some guys this early. Sometimes being the lead this early is bad thing. Having to maintain a stronghold on a guy like this for a year can be a very difficult task. Sometimes its better to sneak up on someone later on in the process. We've all seen too many guys commit or have a strong favorite this early and it not stick.

An 11-12 win BCS type season will do nothing but wonders.

If you ask me, Garret has not interest in ND at this point, with or without academic problems.. but is only a perception.

We need to stay after this guy...his Junior film is fantastic. Didn't see him get off to many blocks but he'll be a menace to opposing running games. Where does his mom lean in all of this?
