Finally, USC's biggest problem was probably Mike Davis.

Mike Davis is the reason why Bobby Knight has chest pains.

She does have a USC song girls outfit she wears for me occassionally, but that's an entirely different discussion. OK, not really, but I had to throw that in there for fun! lol

I'm alright with you now. Just no more about oversigning.

if she is that hot....im sure you got a nice cell phone self pic
:ttiwwop:

Sorry, no way I post a current pic of my wife and make her identifiable to a bunch of strangers. I'll post a college era pic, but that's it. You'd be hard pressed to identify her from a 20 year old picture. You're probably all nice people, but the world is what it is and there are too many loons in it.

No problem. Just for fun, I'll do this until I scan some old college era pics though. The pic below IS NOT my wife. However, it looks so much like her it's spooky. I showed it to my step-daughter and she thought it was her mom. Give the woman in this pic green eyes and blonder hair and she's a dead ringer for what my wife looks like now.

I like the white outfits better. Funny how tastes change. I look at old pics from my college days and girls who were considered to be the bomb then don't look nearly as attractive now. We had twin sisters who were cheerleaders at Bama in the late 70's and every guy just drooled over them. I look at their pics now and wonder why. OTOH, Sela Ward was a cheerleader at Bama then and her pics from those days are still cute. She actually got even better looking over the years.

Bishop, are you catfishing us??

LOL, no. I promise I'm not. What you see is what you get with me. I'll protect my privacy of course, but otherwise I'm pretty much an open book and straight shooter.

Oh yeah... Bishop, the link to the USC putting a felon back on their team and cutting another kid from scholarship is on the front page of this thread. Never did grab you that link.

Thanks, I looked at it. I don't have a problem with the kid coming back to the team if he did his time and truly got his head on straight, but Kiffin pulling a scholly that had been given to a player who'd earned it and hadn't screwed up was slimy.

Im not getting soft; old? maybe. soft? definitely no.

Im not getting soft; old? maybe. soft? definitely no.

I was thinking the other day what is it about USC that I despise so much? at one point in my youth, I actually enjoyed watching USC games, even though I was all Irish.

Is it Pat Haden? I actually think he is a respectable guy....

The university itself? I dont have any real issue with the university per se.

Is it the players? I can remember being excited to see ppl I knew playing for USC (Johnny McWilliams, Daylon McCutcheon)

Is it the coaches? BOOM, i was stopped in my tracks....I started to think that it was Pete the Cheat era that really stepped up my utter disdain for USC, and some obnoxious players that played for Pete the Cheat as well. PTC turned USC into Miami-West, cheating at every possible turn, and recruiting thug after thug.

When I look at the currect roster, I dont have any real disdain for any players other than a healthy 'sports hate' towards some of them....

But Lane Kiffin, and his ties to the Pete the Cheat era is the reason why my disdain is so strong for USC at this time.

I think before the PTC era, USC did business in a respectable way...PTC (and Mike Garrett) changed all that, and Lane Kiffin has carried that mantle after PTC bolted for SEA.

I think Pat Haden will eventually restore USC to be respectable (in my eyes, at least) but until then, as long as Kiffin is there....F*CK USC

Love the sentiment, but this thing has gotten too big for Pat. Like this, it takes someone willing to bend the rules to out flank the cheaters. Pat is like a voice crying out in the wilderness. Unless he gets other coaches and admins in, has a lot of support from his boss, and the whole faculty, it probably isn't going to happen. Good guys get cooked and eaten every day . . .

How many times do you think Pat Haden sits in his office with the door closed and his head in his hands saying, "What the hell was I thinking?"

Haden didn't hire Kiffin; Garrett did.

I'd bet Haden was hoping to ride out the sanctions with Kiffin, since he was at least recruiting well. Now that everything is falling apart, it'll be a real challenge to attract a top coach with their roster issues; they have talent, but it will take several years to rebuild their depth. I wouldn't be surprised to see Haden keep Kiffin for another year just for that reason.

A little risky (but no more so than keeping Kiffin), but he might do well to go find himself a real hot-shot, young, up & coming guy who's torn it up at a smaller school, and not worry about trying to hire an already established big-name coach. Probably several guys who've accomplished miracles at SW State U would jump at the chance to coach at USC and show they can coach with the big boys... and do it for 1/3 what he'd have to pay an established name coach.

That's my point, Whsky. He willingly joined the group with the crapstorm that USC was after Pete and Kiffin the weasel already coach. Don't you think he sometimes thinks to himself...why did I take this job?!?!

That's really hard to do at schools like ND and USC. Swarbrick took a massive risk with Kelly, simply because he was "small timey", even though you'd be hard-pressed to find a more proven coach anywhere. I think Kiffin would already be gone if USC was attractive to other top coaches; but it's not, so Haden's in a Catch-22.

Ah, that makes sense. Haden's an alum, after all. I'm sure some could have asked the same of Swarbrick when he stepped in for White during the worst of the Weis era.

This job will attract plenty of talented coaches and you will hear all sorts of names pop up. Definitely has me intrigued as to who they will get to run it after Kiffin but as of right now, I would think Steve Sarkisian would be one of the few finalists for this gig.
