It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Watching the film on this kid, he seems like a perfect fit for BKs system. I too believe that it will come down to Kiel's decision.

I hope that he grows another couple of inches over the next year with coach's proclivity for big/tall athletic linemen.

Per ISD, at the UA Junior Combine he showed a live arm in drills but struggled with accuracy due to an inconsistent release point. What I liked hearing was that his performance improved when put into some live action.

Per ESPN..will announce in the next two months knowing that an early QB commitment has a huge effect on future recruits in the 2013 class. ND and Northwestern lead as of now.

Love what I've read of this kid's attitude. Quote from current ISD article: ""The personal accolades are great, but it doesn't mean anything if you don't win. I don't want to just be a great player, I also want to be a great leader that my teammates can look to."

Martin is his recruiter. His move to OC can only help land Alviti's commitment. Still favoring ND and NW, as he has all along.

He's at the top of my list, regardless of Fuller's choice this year.

It's a good article, worth checking out. Also said he'd like to have a decision by the spring or summer as to limit distractions during his senior season.

I wonder if landing Fuller will affect Alviti's decision.

Fuller looks amazing at QB but can play DB, RB, or WR (as we all witnessed in his highlight vids). I don't think it hurts us as much as say the top-rated QB signed. Fuller, Golson, Hendrix, Rees, and Alviti would make a tough decision for who to start at QB though.

Who knows? If Martin gets us closer to the 60/40 run-pass split he had at GVS, our offense may end up looking a lot like Oregon's. In that case, Fuller may end up being the best choice.

Having a stable of QBs that can both run/throw will be fantastic.

I would like to see Alviti pull the trigger on ND. It would be a nice sense of relief to have two nicely-touted commits this early.

Wont be visiting. Gunner Kiel will send him to Northwestern.
I like the kid a lot but I'll take Kiel and wish him the best at Northwestern if that's the case.

Nothing is a given and I want to see ND to add the best talent regardless of who they already have and if that causes transfers then so what they apparently it was never the right fit.

So my question is, does that mean that Kelly doesn't take a QB this year? I know his stated philosophy is to try and take one each year, but it just doesn't seem to be that necessary this year. And Alviti to NW is fine by me, even as an Illinois alum.

I'm not sure we have a choice. If Golson lights it up, I doubt Kiel is content with riding the pine for what could be up to 4 years. I doubt we manage to keep Golson, Hendrix and Kiel all on the roster for the next 4/3/4 years.

Yeah, we'd be lucky to keep them all on the team really. I honestly don't care as long as we see some improved QB play.

ISD has a premium article (I can't read) that states Matt is expanding his list, and delaying his choice... FWIW.

Nothing new...MSU now tied with ND and Northwestern. Hearing from ND a tad less (once every 2 weeks) than the others (once a week). Not sure when he'll make a decision, but it'll be before the season.

I believe we do need a QB this year because of my vision of things to come...

1. Rees realizes he will never play again and transfers after being option 4 by year end

2.Golson starts struggles a bit but improves over the year and Hendrix comes in with some packages.

3. Whom ever loses the battle between Golson/Kiel transfers ( I would hate this)

4.The QB picture at that time finally becomes clear. Kiel or Golson for 3-4 years with Hendrix backup.

5. Need to groom another stud that takes over when Kiel or Golson get drafted and for depth at that point.
