Am I right in thinking that the staff wasn't 100% sure if we were going to land Tarean's LOI yesterday? He is our only recruit who doesn't have a youtube clip on the ND Athletics page, yet Eddie does.

EDIT:: Someone just asked the same question on the main board over there, makes sense now. Their 4*'s must be 6.0 guys where some of ours are 5.8.....I still like our class better :)

You got it. Not all 4:s:s are equal.

We're essentially tied with OSU and Florida for the #2 class, and I think that's fair. 'Bama's is the only class that is clearly better than ours.

Thinking about the between 4-stars (5.8s, 5.9s, 6.0s), really woke me up to just how much better some of the higher ranked classes over the past few years have been.

Some 4-stars are border line 3 stars, the latter borderline 5 stars. For example, Lynch and Councell were both 4 star DEs on Rivals! BIG difference (assuming Ben stayed at DE).

Under 21 you need a legal guardian or parent to sign. She wants the attention. These people must be related to Landon Collins and his psycho *** mom.

If I had a mom like that, I would've committed to Alaska! Just to get as far away as possible. Lol

OK, not sure where to post this so I will do so here. On Rivals, how in the hell is Ohio St. ahead of ND?!?!?!?

Ohio St.---2-5*, 16-4*, 6-3*
ND---------4-5*, 14-4*, 6-3*

It doesn't matter, and I wouldn't trade our class for any other class out there, but.....how in the hell does that work out?

Looks to me like the same class, but we have 2 5*'s where they have 4*'s.

It's nice that this is what I am worried about the day after signing day. :)

On this note, I just looked at Rivals and noticed they still have OSU barely ahead of ND. Our totals still show 24 commits, which obviously does not include our preferred walk-ons. I wonder if these preferred walk-ons are technically included as part of the final class. If so, this should give us a bit of a boost and move us past Ohio State in the final class rankings. If not, I guess they only count scholarship players toward these rankings.

I think it means they knew the decision beforehand and they faked getting excited and such when recruits announced.

No Diaco?

Haha, nope. It's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately list I guess. It's been a couple years since Ishaq and he let Anzalone get away this year (NOT his fault obviously, but objective observers might look at it that way).

They were pretty much full up and planning on taking a small class anyway. Had and lost a couple in Randolph in Savaiinea that are pretty good prospects but not an awful lot of star power. Doesn't matter, the kids they got will develop and turn out to be solid football players like most of the kids on their roster.

OK, thanks Yankee & AB. I like their coach and think he's done a great job recruiting and developing his guys. I just noticed they didn't have their typical class and wondered what was going on.

Not to start an argument or even a debate but the kids that choose to go to Stanford, Northwestern, ND etc etc, generally are going to stay the full 4 years and get their degrees and really made a thought out decision. Kids that are going to Bama(not all) but a large portion in my eyes at this point are coming into a football factory to win a NC and get drafted. Nothing wrong with that either. Bama is getting some very talented players and they have dreams to play in the NFL. I respect that. You have some exceptions to that rule in Jones and McCarron and I'm sure others as well but I'm just saying percentage wise that SEC kids leave earlier than the schools I've listed.

My point is Stanford will have small classes every 4 years because they don't lose as many players to the draft or disciplinary issues.
