What time is his usual press conference? 3 pm?

And isnt it the day after NSD usually?
No it's usually around 12 or 1 on NSD.

They won't wait to have the press conference for Eddy, but they should wait for Folston. Would be a big goof if Kelly talks about him and he chooses Auburn.

And since the updates this morning, I haven't seen anything at all that leads me to believe he is still announcing at 2:30, or whatever Scout reported.
Care to summarize about the reports this morning. I have this thing called work, so I'm a little behind.

very hopeful on TF
every bit a player as bryant IMO (and a little faster top end)
TF wont take a back seat to anyone in our eisting stable either.

Still not sure we're entirely out of the woods here... but I feel an awful lot better about landing him.

Favorite players? Ignoring Redfield/Jaylon Smith... because both those guys are just WOW prospects and too obvious...

I really like Onwualu and Deeb because of the attitude each one of them has. They epitomize what you want in student athletes. Same with Heurman. I think Kinlaw might be a huge sleeper... if he can stay healthy.

I think this has everything to do with how Neal and Carlisle perform early next season.

Lol at Anzalone being a 5 star. That's not sour grapes either.

Agree. Not to mention he is the first recruit in my time following this stuff that I didn't like on a personal level. It doesn't have much to do with him flipping to Florida, either (although what I don't like about him and why he flipped are basically the same). He comes off as flighty, flaky and insincere, and that has nothing to do with being a teenager. Those are personality traits that are in your DNA, and I don't like anyone like that whether they are six or sixty. He isn't the first guy to flip from ND, but he's the only one I don't care for. I really did feel that way since the summer, too, but never would have said so publicly when he was a committed player.

This is a sad post.

Heard Auburn's 247 sports guy on the Bill King show this morning. He thinks ND is the favorite but wouldn't be shocked if Folston signed with Auburn.

We'll all feel better when his LOI gets faxed in

My favorites: Well, there's a guy named Elmer, and there's a guy named Biven, and there is a guy named Montelus, and there is a guy named McGovern, and there is a guy named McGlinchey. They might just give a couple of real good guys named Folston and Bryant open spaces to run in.

But wait. My guys never have the ball. I'll have to reassess.

Here's the weird thing about Anzalone as a prospect to me. His coverage abilities are great. Like absolutely fantastic. He has a great frame. And great athleticism. As an athlete, he has all the physical tools you want for a linebacker.

But... his tackling technique is quite suspect and his film from the defensive side of the ball really isn't that great... certainly not 5:s: level when you compare to other linebackers around that rating in the class. I think he *could* be AMAZING and warrant the 5:s: rating depending on his player development. The weird thing is he would've gotten that at ND... but I don't think that's a guarantee at Florida. He might just get moved to an H-Back role at Florida and never sniff the defensive side of the ball if he gets on campus and their staff likes the other guys better because they're more polished on that side of things.

Yeah, pretty typical for schools to put on a signing ceremony for all of their student athletes and like you/everyone else are suggesting this in and of itself shouldn't be construed as "making a decision" or anything else beyond face value.

had a couple buddies to that in high school. sent there letter in and they just had a blank piece of paper at a table when they signed. showed me the paper afterward and he wrote a goofy message to another buddy. you're right it's just all for show.

Open letter to OMM:

Mike, a chara,

People become enamored with all that shines. Some people forget what builds a championship team; some never knew. You on the site more than any other poster know what is going to happen to our offensive line. Where others are going to attribute it to some combination of shinny skilled players, you will know. A few really smart observers will comment on how much offensive performance increases with line play, but we are looking at the possibility of something special here. It isn't the overall size, it is the length and the leverage that brings with the blocking technique that Harry and the Irish promote.

Beir bua agus beannacht,

Bogs

Postscript: I had a son who had a favorite toy, his building blocks. He loved those blocks. Well, he wanted to carry them with him from room to room as he became more mobile. Well, he could only carry a couple at a time; that wouldn't work. So he found a way to rig up a blanket so he could carry a "bunch." He had this blanket anchored in the front of his britches and he could get most of his blocks in. It was always fun to watch him. For months he would always jam one to many in and it would all come undone, and he would have to start over. Trying to pick 3 or even 5 favorite players in this class reminds me of his frustration. I can't see a doable task being limited to less that 22 favorite players! It is the whole darned class!

Not that I put much stock into Farrell's predictions, but thought it was notable. He was of the opinion of Folston to Auburn a couple days ago.

I was actually fine with this before I found out Farrell was on board with it. Fuuuuudge.

Totally agree. I don't want this to sound like sour grapes, but if you dig into AA's thread, you will find that I said this before he committed and while he was committed. He is a great athlete, but i'm not sold on him being a great football player. His tape is very mediocre in my opinion. His best highlights were always running the ball, not on defense (where we were recruiting him). Furthermore, while he excelled at skill competitions and has great measurables, he disapeared in the all star game he played in.

I have always preferred guys that look great on tape and in all star games. They always seem to translate better than the kids with great measurables that win the skill competitions. The game is more than just being big, strong and fast. You have to be good at actually playing the game, which is where AA never lit it up for me.

Again... no one needs to get butt hurt about it... it's just my opinion.
