Yeah... this is what always made me think UCLA might be team to be... but I've heard it's nowhere near Royce White and probably won't play a super large factor... but definitely a factor not in the positive no matter what way you try to slice it.

I bet a plane is in the future if he goes to UCLA though cause Auburn is a hell of a drive....a flights a flight, throw back some JDs and your their in no time!

I've seen a couple mods on rivals saying USC is out. Which tends me to believe this race isn't over. ND mods on rivals and ISD are also being quiet on this one which could be a good thing. BK and Saban will have the last word and let the best man win. IMO Eddie is wide open and will decide early next week. Having Mom in corner meaning she is comforatble to letting him go to South Bend. Bad thing is his dad hates flying. Recruits are usually tipping there hands at this point Eddie is not at all.

Time to dust off the "ND is on TV every Saturday" argument.

The predictions of where he'll end up that I've seen are all over the place and it seems as if every college on his final list seems optimistic about getting him. I also haven't seen anything from any sources(other than pro-ND ones) that say he is leaning towards ND. Don't get me wrong, I want this guy bad as hell, but it's freaking eating at me right now. The Irish gave a good pitch to him. I can't think of a better host than Nix for EV and Based on twitter and fb pics, it seems like he enjoyed his visit to ND. But at the same time, that's not saying much. Plus, it wasn't assuring to know that J-Smith wasn't able to make it over the weekend while EV was visiting, which would have helped definitely. He hasn't talked to any media since he was about to leave for ND which pretty much leaves guys on the outside(like me) in the dark. I have no idea what to think of the whole thing. What's your guys' opinion on where we stand with him atm?

Alabama site said they thought it was a ND/Alabama race.

well, third party sources at least

I mean the only thing I would bet on right now is him not going to USC. I just don't see it. The whole reason he decommitted was because he really liked his UCLA visit. So if he stays in Cali I personally think that has to be the choice. That's just my opinion though. I think the USC sources on this are pretty full of it.

No idea how 'Bama will fare until he visits. They might surge to #1 after they impress the hell out of him. But you can probably pencil us in for at least a 30% of landing him as things stand right now.

What has me thinking he will end up at Notre Dame is his twitter page. Some girl tweeted to him saying "@EddieVanderdoes> ❤" which he retweeted then later ... "we all hope he goes to ND but wherever his heart is that's where he is going to commit, he's smart either way"... also he got to stay with Louis Nix who is just an awesome guy from what I've seen and heard. And Jaylon is going after him hard. Not seeing to much from Bama or SC anymore.

If there are three things I've learned since I started following recruiting:
1. Scott Schraeder is really bad at his job.
2. Around NSD people start making up rumors left and right and generally have no idea what they're talking about so don't buy into anything until it's official.
3. Neither Scout nor ESPN ever have a good scoop. Stick to 247, Rivals, and ISD for info.

Yet, at the same time, just before that "Coach Rumph coming over at 5 for an In Home and to see what's planned for this big weekend coming up!!". I definitely wouldn't take Bama out of the picture

Alabama never does well with Cali prospects. They have one in their 2013 class. The main reason is the cultural difference. Alabama isn't desirable for academics either. Its something like an 85 average on average to get acceptance.

Hmmm, we don't recruit CA a lot, but we've had a few players from there. As for academics, I know you guys really love that stereotype, but let's see if you know which football program has produced the most academic All-Americans over the past 5 years. We may not be Harvard, but our APR is in the top 20% and Saban doesn't play around at all about going to class and making grades. You'd rather skip a workout than a class.

Academic All-Americans. Nebraska would be the all time leader, right? What difference does that make (relatively) if the school doesn't have killer academic programs.

Simply what is better all A's from MIT or Stanford, or from Maryland or Arizona State?

Classic obfuscation of facts. This cracks me up and means absolutely nothing at all. It's a completely empty stat that is in large part due to how much easier the classes are at Alabama vs. at ND. At ND there are no majors for athletes to hide in and there are no bottom of the barrel college students to just eat the Cs and Ds... you're competing against a small population of academically focused very bright students who finished at the top of their HS classes and it's very hard to even get Bs in most majors.

Kids who end up at ND don't even apply to Alabama as a safety school. Sorry, just a fact. That's the difference in educational prestige between the two places.

When you're on deer antler spray I hear you can afford to miss a workout.

Hey, if a few of you want to beat the "academics suck in the SEC" drum, have at it. It's a free country, you have a right to be wrong, and it's amusing to know why you feel a need to do so. Lots of people find it easier to just go with stereotypes instead of thinking for themselves or checking their facts. If you need to, then by all means feel free!

Saban has raised the bar there and I think that's outstanding. I really do.

To try and use the Academic AA count as a comparison tool to build Alabama up, or pull Notre Dame down is just homerism on your part.

Again, I do appreciate what Saban has/is doing there.
