MGoBlog is the freaking worst. Someone told me to go on there and I regret it. It's become abundantly clear that all of our rivals are content to bury their heads in the sand and believe whatever the hell they want regardless of what comes out. It's sad and pathetic.

Literally every post I make gets downvoted regardless of content. One guy even said that Floyd from the Cardinals said he met Lennay. Another said they dated for 3 years. It's insane. I've never seen such a concentrated group of tinfoil hat people in my life.

Yeah, **** them. But I've often wondered in the past week, how would I have reacted to this story about a star player from, say, Michigan, like Denard Robinson? (just as an example)


Wouldn't I have jumped all over it and lambasted him? I can imagine I would have.

Would I have been as diligent in picking up all the details and information as I have with Manti? How much evidence would it have taken for me to start feeling bad for him?

I would like to think that I, and the fanbase I love, would have come to sympathize and reject this cruelty for what it is... but would it have been too late?

You are getting too sophisticated with this. I know you a bit. You, some of the other posters, and I would not have given a shiit. More clearly stated; we may have had a chuckle or not, but we wouldn't have run with it, and tried to tear down the opponents school for such a personal and trivial thing. Perfect example, even JM's arrest record which is concrete and in violation of a law, was handled much better by our whole posting community. No one tried to tear down T A&M as an institution. OMG, Just had a conversation with one of my co-workers (FSU fan) where he just kept saying "Monty" Te'o is just an idiot, and his 11 yr old son wouldn't fall for this. He than goes on to say he will never believe what "Monty" has to say or any other ND fan says because he just cant understand it and ND fans will back him to the end no matter what. This is coming from a guy who supports Wilder, Reid and who ever was recently arrested from FSU. I tried to tell him some of the facts and Manti's explanations for things and he says "I dont buy it, he is an idiot"....My God I just keep thinking, I wonder if I will get fired if I tried to beat the ignorance out of him!

Evidently in an effort to get O'Meara to make a video saying "good luck on the 7th" Tuiasosopo told O'Meara that his cousin was having brain surgery on the 7th. Of course the 7th was actually the BCS championship.

It sucks because we are rivals. I go there because they have some pretty good info and its generally a decent site. But once your allegiance is known you'll get Trolling or Flamebait downvotes every time. The other think I can't believe is the lack of understanding about the Samoan/Polynesian aspect of this thing. Katie Couric penciled him as a dependent, immature 21 year old; has she or nobody else an understanding of how these things work? I have sold a large number of used personal and company vehicles, for example. I can name five ethnic groups, including Manti's, where parents come and in effect make the decision. This goes through the twenties, until 30 if the child remains unmarried. This effect remains more in tact in groups that keep their identity. List Samoans in this group. And nobody can understand why a Poly/Samoan boy, 8,000 miles from home would feel more comfortable with someone familiar with this limited to the phone, than someone in person who wasn't familiar? With some people, conversation is not worth having. For some people with whom you have to talk, it is not worth interacting on certain levels. Some people, including spouses, having some conversations on certain subjects is not worth the cost of the overall experience. That is all I know.

part of the problem when talking to the "anti-Mantis" out there (and they are legion!) is that there are no quick retorts in a coversational setting to fire back at them.

so many details already, with more emerging (that help manti), and none of it really matters because peoples minds are already made up. and were within the first day really.

i have said this from the beginning: Manti and Condon really screwed up not breaking this themselves and breaking it first.

They needed to do in person, on camera interview within 24-48hrs of story hitting. hell jack was rerady within 3 hrs! its tragic really. they lost the narrative on this to deadspin from the outset (especially that "80% certainty bvllshit line they threw in the article. that was killer) and to basically every media outlet in the US within one day.

That'd be more plausible if it were actually Tuiasosopo on the phone, but the voice experts and various sources have now come forward saying that was definitely a female on Manti's voicemail.

This is why when the story broke and everyone who thought Manti was in on it from the beginning kept saying that the truth will come out eventually, it just made me laugh. People only want the truth they are looking for. If they don't get it then its all a big conspiracy.
