Just wondering, why did the other guys in the Ray Lewis fight get off on self-defense if it was so obviously not self-defense?

The thread title is wrong, it should be "Wes Welker's Wife spits the truth on social media!"

I'm a Celtics fan, and I don't believe Kobe raped that girl. I'm no misogynist, I don't believe in slut shaming victims and I do believe rape is the most heinous of crimes so I don't take allegations lightly, but I always felt that girl's story made no sense. Also og77, welcome to the winning team, brother!

She just painted a bullseye on her husband for the Ravens. They will have to wait until next year to tee off.

Only thing not true in her statement is the "4 wives" comment. I don't believe Ray has been married(which makes the kid part even worse).

The other thing would be "acquitted for murder". Lewis was never acquitted. The murder charges were dropped after he agreed to a plea deal that had him testify against his homies, and plead guilty to a misdemeanor obstruction of justice charge.

Done, was just waiting for you to be OK with it...

Thank you sir, I am cool with it and cool with what she said but if I was Wes I would not be happy about the checks his wife is writing that his body has to cash!

Know what I would do.

Know what I would do.

Wes needs to put his wife in her place and let her know that if she doesn't stop speaking the truth he is not going to sleep with her anymore.

Right, and IIRC, his testimony conflicted at times with other witnesses and those who were in the limo after the incident, which led to his buddies being aquitted.

I dont think its fair to mock Ray for something he did like 15 years ago, especially when he really has changed, im not gonna dwell on the bad childhood and bad upbringing but just focus on what he is now, a damn leader in all aspects...

Why would an Atlanta prosecutor give Ray Lewis a deal if they thought he committed the murders? Why would they want him to testify at all if it was going to be inconsistent with other witnesses? What evidence was there that he was involved in the fight? Did other witnesses say Ray did it? They obviously thought the evidence against him was not good enough.

We all say he got off easy, but we all call him a murderer. Why do people think that? Seems to me that his friends murdered someone and he tried to cover it up. That is horrible, but its not murder and he pled to it. The plea makes sense for the prosecutors because they get his testimony. It makes sense for him because it removes the chance that the jury decides he was involved based on circumstantial evidence.

As far as the Kobe situation, both sides seem plausible: (1) She let the situation get started but he would not stop when she wanted him to, (2) She let it happen but changed her tune either for some reason.

Maybe the prosecutor offered a deal to get Lewis' testimony, thinking that his case against Lewis' homies was stronger, but still needed some kind of eyewitness testimony. Prosecutors make deals with people that they think are guilty all of the time, in an attempt to try to ensure a conviction. Lewis lied to the police the day after the murders, telling them that he wasn't even there. Hence, the obstruction of justice charge. This wasn't a case of whether or not someone took improper benefits from a booster, it was about murder. So that speaks volumes to me of Lewis' character, and therefore, his credibility. Why couldn't he find the white suit that he was wearing, the night that the two men were stabbed to death, so the authorities were never able to examine it for evidence?

I don't know if he killed anyone or not. I just "know" that he is hiding something about his involvement that night.

Wow. He completely changed his life around after those murders. We all give Te'o a pass for lying because he's embarrassed, well how about lying because two 'friends' may have cost you your lifes work?

What he did in the past is really no worse than a good portion of the NFL and if you can't forgive his past transgressions thats fine, but don't act like the Ray Lewis of today is a bad guy. Heck, hes retiring because he promised his son that he'd be at his games.

To say that 'somebody had to say it' when there have been multiple stories rehashing the murder case is silly.
