They have made major changes in Lawrence. I am actually excited to watch KU and ND this year, last year watching KU made me want to vomit. Seriously, Turner Gill is a very nice man, and I think a great person, but god they were awful. Charlie's staff is much better, and he immediately upgraded the talent, especially at QB. I hope Dayne goes out w/ a great season, stays healthy and get his shot in the league.

I just wish that guys like this would find success on the field. He handled everything with class and dignity and I would be proud to have a son like Dayne. Good luck to him and I hope he catches on in the NFL. If not, he will not have any problem succeeding elsewhere.

I wish Dayne nothing but the best, he is an ND guy after all. No disrespect meant in any way, but how did he make an All-star game after that horrific season?

Great kid, glad he chose ND. Sucks it didn't work out the way he and we all would have hoped, but he will be successful in life.

Love DC, he's a class act and I wish him all the best. I'll always remember the 96yd? TD pass to Rudolph against scUM, even though we lost the game.

I still have this feeling that he's going to be a great backup in the NFl and then breakthrough to be great, just my opinion.

The all-star games are really about who pro scouts want to see, not rewarding who had the best college season. In that sense, it's a bit of a misnomer. I wouldn't be shocked if Dayne was in an NFL camp next August. He's got a pro's body and a good arm. Somebody will give him a shot if he wants it.

Ok, thanks. I never paid that much attention, I guess!

Lots of players make All-Star games. McGloin from St. Penn even made one.
i hate psu almost as much as i love ND but he played a hell of a lot better than crist and played pretty decent in most games

No doubt Crist is a classy guy and I wish him the best. But, virtually every time he ever took the field in a game for the Irish, I expected him to do something to cost them the game. That goal line play against USC a couple of years back was maybe the worst play I have ever seen in my 45 years of watching football. I can't see him ever making an NFL squad and was frankly surprised that Weis brought him to Kansas.

Dayne Christ is classy no doubt.

I'm not sure but didn't both Andrew Luck and Dayne Christ both want to come to ND and Weis chose Christ as he only wanted one QB for that recruiting class. I don't blaim Weis (for that) considering how highly Christ was rated coming out of high school. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Just imagine though how things would have been different for ND and Standford if Luck was at ND. Luck likely waits behind Clausen and even if he doesn't with Weis's defensive issues Weis likely still gets fired and Notre Dame brings in Brian Kellly. Does Jim Harbough though have the same level success at Standford to get the 49ers job that quickly? Jim Harbough was going to be successful no matter what but Andrew Luck took Standford to a different level. Just imagine last year's ND team with Andrew Luck at QB throwing to Michael Floyd and Tyler Eifert. Take into account NDs solid defense in 2011 (albeit not 2012 level) and you could have been looking at a national champion. Of course then Luck graduates and ND starts Golsen this year. I think then without Tommy Rees's level of experience as past starter he is unlikely good enough to save ND in some of the earlier games so my guess is ND has a lost or two in 2012.
