Nay.
Know this.
EDIT: Why are people even talking about Oregon falling? If they win out, they will be the undisputed #1 team in the country. They are finishing the season with FOUR STRAIGHT games against ranked opponents, and five in six. It is Kansas State who we should be targeting in the event that all three teams finish unbeaten.
Exactly. I posted this earlier tonight as well. If Oregon isn't going to lose then we want them to be the #1 team in the BCS standings.
I did find the Harris poll results on PollSpeak.com.
My take on the human polls is they won't change much if all three of win out. Voters aren't going to jump one team over another if we all keep winning. The only thing we gain in the Harris poll really is if Ohio State loses and Bama loses again then we will gain 0.0007 combined points from those two writers who had us 4th in voting behind Ohio State and Alabama respectively in their ballots. So, yeah, not much to gain or change there.
The computer polls are based a lot on strength of schedule so that can fluctuate a lot. Oregon with their tough schedule coming up will gain there...will they pass Kansas State is the question? And can we hold our ground with .990. The fact that we remain .990 after playing the worst team on our schedule is encouraging. If we remain at that after Wake Forest and if USC beats UCLA, then there's no reason to believe we would drop there at all.
So the big thing that I want to know is, can we gain in the Coaches Poll. As I said before, one unbeaten wont jump another unbeaten in those polls providing the unbeatens keep winning. What I'm dying to know is how many coaches had us below #3 in their poll. I've heard that some have us at #6. That is absurd.
What I want to know is that if every coach had us at least at #3 (which is the lowest we possibly should be) then what would our BCS point total be?
can anyone provide a link to where i can see the full results for the coaches poll and harris poll. I'd like to crunch some numbers but need to know what each coach voted us. thanks
No...but I can tell you we are getting shafted a bit...
Coaches poll:
If everyone voted us 3rd, except BK, we should be at 1359 pts. or .9214.
Harris poll:
If everyone voted us 3rd, except for 1 first place vote (we got one), we should be at 2647 pts or .9207
Computer:
It has us at .990
So if everyone voted us 3rd, being as that should be the worst case scenario fathomable by ANY person with integrity, we'd have a BCS score of .9440 vs our current .9396.
This makes it clear conference coaches are trying to put the screws to us...and that there is some bias in the Harris Poll.
Still in third with my worst case numbers, but much closer...and keep in mind, if folks weren't gaming it we would have a couple more 1s, some 2s, etc. so the others scores would come down. This tells me we would be in a toss up w/ Oregon for second.

Who the hell votes in the Harris Poll?
Alabama got a first place vote. Seriously.
Boise State is ranked ahead of Michigan after just losing to San Diego State, having two losses on the season, and zero quality wins of any sort.
Wow. I am flabbergasted. This **** is deciding national championships.Who the hell votes in the Harris Poll?

Suddenly the AP doesn't seem so bad.
I think Oregon will slip if they play SC again.
AP poll is posted weekly with some aspect of transparency with a voters ballot being made public.
The other polls don't.
Though USA Today says they will release a ballot if a coach lies and threatens the integrity of the poll.
It's killing me to refrain from what I want to say.

Conference coaches are absolutely gaming the system... Conferences cut up the bcs pie at the end of the year in terms of $$$$. It does them no good to vote their conscience....it does their conference and institutions's coffers much better to vote up their own agenda.
#uck them....... And David Pollack too.

Not sure I understand this argument.
Do the teams (i.e. conferences) that play for the title get a larger share of the BCS pie? I may be wrong, but I thought it was evenly split, with conferences that have two BCS participants getting an extra share. That's certainly what this piece seems to say.

At this point, we're in a BCS bowl regardless, so we'd get our cut. Who does it help - financially - to keep us out of the title game? SEC looks like it'll get two BCS slots and can't get more than that. I guess Big 12/Pac 12 teams would hope to get a second team in at-large if OU and KSU play for the title? But that's a longshot for the Pac-12. No one else is going to get two. I'm not sure I understand the agenda.
That said, I am flabbergasted how no coaches - aside from Kelly - voted us #1. But there's still a lot of football to be played, by Oregon in particular. Patience.
