I'm wondering what the staff's timetable is on how long they will wait on a Folston decision. He seems to be taking his time with recruiting and doing things on his timetable. Do you think they will hold a spot for him until signing day?
Or if the staff still has interest in Clement do you think he will wait that long?

If he doesn't show a high-level of interest I would be on the phone with Clement tomorrow and be eating cafeteria food at his school Monday. Then again Folston could have loved his visit, we'll just have to wait until the word gets out.

Per the commits who were present, Folston liked the visit but Fuller and Butler both said he is not close to deciding.

So Folston may well go to NSD. Do we wait for him? I think we will. We really don't need another RB and if he is our first choice by a lot (this is making an assumption; I know he is our first choice but not sure by how much) then I guess we wait till he decides.

Per Sapp the preference is to wait out Folston, he is going to take other visits. RB is not a dire need in this class so they will wait out their top priority who is the ideal fit. Still possible they could turn to Clement but not likely at this point.

Agreed, I think we wait him out and at the same time continue to try and recruit other best available players. I feel pretty optimistic about this because from previous articles he doesn't have many choices that I worry about. Oregon looked like a serious player when Tyner decommited but he immediately recommited so that should be dont for them with 2 rb's. Who is our serious competition here?

Right now the main competition is USF. He likes some other schools like South Carolina and Auburn but they don't have him as high on their boards so there might not be a spot for him. Tennessee is a team that has been coming on as of late.

Never a good sign... when you're even interested in those kind of schools, chances are you don't appreciate a significant chunk of the total package ND is offering. I think we'll have our hands full landing him.

We do seem like the odd man out but we've been up there in his top group the whole time so not sure what to think of it. Most important tho is he came to campus and seemed to enjoy himself.

Per Wiltfong, Folston raved about the visit to his HS coach. fwiw (not much probably).

It's pretty simple the kid wants to play in the south but the schools in the south are waiting to see what Greg Bryant and Derrick Green and Alvin Karma do. AJ Turman is also waiting. If Miami were to lose Alex Collins to FSU or another school I think they might look at Folston and he would jump all over that offer.

Yep, we'll probably need a little help from the SEC and southeastern ACC schools to land this one. It would be fantastic if his top schools all fill up at RB and he defaults to us ... we get a great player with a huge chip on his shoulder.

BEFORE READING NOTE THIS IS THE FREE TEASER NOT PREMIUM INFO!

Top247 RB home from Notre Dame visit
Cocoa (Fla.) High Top247 running back Tarean Folston took his first official visit to Notre Dame over the weekend and touched back down in the Sunshine State on Monday morning.

Ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 10 running back and No. 129 prospect overall, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound Folston text his head coach John Wilkinson about his trip to South Bend which included the Irish's victory over BYU.

"He said everything it went great and had a good time," Wilkinson recapped.

"I know he's really excited about Notre Dame and from the text I got, he got around the campus and liked what they had and had a good time which I knew he would."

Next up for Folston could be an official visit out West.

"From what I understand, he wants to set a visit to Oregon and after that who knows. He's talks to people at Virginia Tech, South Florida, Florida State."

This fall against a strong schedule, Folston has rushed for 811 yards on just 130 carries with seven touchdowns. As a junior he finished with 1,295 yards on 153 carries and 17 scores.

A lot of the schools he is looking at head coaches could be fired which might help ND. What might hurt is he is a really good football player and I would not doubt that some big time programs are telling him to wait and see how everything shakes out with spots. He could be talking to teams like Georgia Florida and just not talking about it and pop on NSD when they have a spot left. He is a really good football player

I said what I felt before on the AA story and where he was going I am trying to stay out of that mess. While I think Floston is good don't think he is special so I doubt Florida will take him. Only back Florida probably would take is Alex Collins and doubt that happens.

I think it says a lot that he made ND a priority and we got his first visit.
If he doesn't mind leaving the south and Oregon has a scholly for him, they would be a huge competitor here. It seems he has a high interest in them due to his statements about them being the only other school mentioned at the moment for a visit. Plus their scheme is a perfect fit for his game.
His methodical approach to recruiting I would hope would lend to the fact that he would weigh out all ND has to offer both on and off the field despite the other schools under consideration.
The longer this plays out, the better I like our chances.

I highly doubt Oregon still has room for him after Tyner reaffirmed last week. Thats two backs already when you include the kid out of texas. Dontre Wilson

I definitly think Folston is a better fit for our non-spread, non-pro-style, non-finess, non-power attack.

Yeah, good to know that "he's not that special." I guess Florida will let ND have a chance at him now.

And THAT is why I can't stand that dude and wish him gone. I know a lot of people here "appreciate" his input, but this site wouldn't skip a beat without him and his backhanded ways.

He takes subtle stabs every chance he gets.
