What happened to him? I haven't seen him play this season? Is he hurt? Or is it just because of how well Lynch, Tuitt, KLM, and Ethan Johnson have played? I like this guy and want to see him get some time? This might be one of our few positions that we actual depth in.

No inside info but: Johnson/Cwynar/KLM and Tuitt/Nix/Lynch rotating ---Bob Diaco is having plenty enough of a hard time getting his D-Line rotations down pat with split seconds to sub. Not only Kona but also Hafis have been left "outside" looking in due to all the power in front of them. Hafis played some when Cwynar's hand was worse. That's a giveaway to me that six D-Line is as much as a DC can easily manage in the sped-up game with Run vs Pass packages.

That was a question in one the press conference's this week. Kelly said that d-line has a lot of depth and it is very competitive. People are passing him up on the depth chart. Im sure it doesn't help that he has a cast on his left hand.

Pretty sure he will redshirt this season... Watch Kellys interview from Wednesday I think. He talks about this

I believe we will see Kona get more playing time in 2012 when we are minus Ethan Johnson and maybe KLM if he decides not to take 5th year.

i take it as this:
Kona wasn't supposed to play last year. He came in underweight and raw, but circumstances pushed him into the rotation after he put on the requisite weight. Now that we have some depth, he's getting the red shirt he needed last year and will be back as a beast in support of KLM or one of our super-freshman.
