He is going to make the visit to South Bend this I can guarantee. The people that say he was just visiting because of family are in denial he wasn't hanging out with his parents all game. There is a reason he keeps visiting Florida. That being said this is big boy recruiting and Kelly knows if you want big time recruits you have to fight for them. Right now Meyer is trying to get two of the Gators LB commits to visit tOSU and it looks like he will. I am not going to worry about it. You have to have faith that your staff will either they keep him on board or if he leaves they have a plan for a replacement.

I enjoy following recruiting and understand its the backbone of program but I enjoy watching my team win way more. And while Alex would be a nice addition to ND you guys are 5-0 right now. I am going to type that again ND is 5-0 right now. Some Pennsylvania kid wavering on his commitment just doesn't mean too much in the big scheme of things right now .

But Aaron Lynch continually blew assignments and din't play the run well and committed a lot of mistakes including big penalties. As a situational pass rusher he could've been a huge asset... but he wasn't willing to be that... so it's kinda moot point. And he was a huge cancer with a bad attitude... and if there is one thing I've learned playing sports it's that attitude is contagious. With people in the right mindset, the whole team performs better. With even a couple people not "bought in" or causing distractions the whole productivity of the team tumbles. As things stand right now, I'm just not sure if he would've actually improved our performance so far.

Couldn't agree with you more Gator! Kelly is really making things exciting on the field and hell he has gotten more than his fair share of studs to come to the Bend! You can't win em all in the recruiting circus but at the end of the day it is the life blood of every program. I trust that Kelly is doing his due diligence on this!

Lynch is an awesome athlete but ultimately he wasn't a good fit at as 3-4 DE. His skill set is solely that of a pass rusher and as a 3-4 DE that's not your primary responsibility and it showed in his play as it was more or less all or nothing.

His play was either blown assignments or highlight material.

I don't think Anzalone is going to decommit for a second time. But if he does, this staff isn't likely to let it ruin the class. That has been a big difference between Weis and Kelly. Isaac Savaiinaea would be getting triple the phone calls he is. This staff isn't stupid.

We're going to get to the point where Kelly "arrives," where people across the country actually accept that Kelly's winning ways are going to be brought to the national stage. He did it at GVSU, he did it at CMU, and he certainly did it at Cincinnati. That is going to have an incredible impact on recruiting going forward.

Great post.

Anzalone is a great player and great athlete who could be outstanding for us, on and off the field, but if we keep playing like we have been playing we will be in on a lot of such players. I want Anzalone or another ILB to go along with Deeb in this class so we have a soph/RS freshman ready to play a serious backup role in 2014, but realistically, even if Anzalone bolts late and we can't get another ILB in the 2013 class, we will have ILBs in the 2014 class dying to join us. We've already got Martini committed! One way or another it will all work out fine.

We would VERY much like a talent of Alex' apparent abilities to be on our football team.

If he doesn't agree, that would be a shame [though in no way on the coaching staff, who are doing their best], but we fans should then just think: hmmmm.... unfortunate, but Grace, Moore, Deeb, Rabasa and some new guy as Mike possibles.... doesn't sound too bad to me.

You're right Mike. We have a lot of talent at linebacker. I hope Anzalone sticks with the Irish. Lets all take a deep breath and see how it all plays out. Go Irish!

Alex would be great fit I think at ND, but we want him 100% happy if hes here. If ND keeps winning they will be turning guys away like usc. I hope he comes here but remember all the supposed great recruits at a bunch of schools that just dont work out-see T. Stockton, Dion the Wr. ya never now about the star system.
