THC also drops your testosterone and HGH, etc., so I could be coaching the Glaucoma Team at Humbolt State and still ban it from my players.

The age doesn't matter. I believe it's simply a positive or negative test result.

I could not find anything in ND printed material on THC in your system, versus possession (external, not in your system). I would think, ResLifewise, a positive test for consumption is different than possession ala McAlarney but that's conjecture on my part.

I never read if Ragone was tested. With his nagging injuries and buried on the depth chart, he could have missed a game for a suspension, due to a failed test not possession, and who would have noticed?

If it was consumed at home versus on campus, or what form doesn't matter?

And in checking around, I am not sure I believe that him getting caught is true.

If Tommy Rees only got a one game suspension for actually being arrested, I doubt if Wood gets more than one game for no legal involvements.

this does make sense, but i dont think it matters.

the situations *could* be very different just based upon the involvement of the law. being arrested vs. being "caught".

i will not speculate at this time--i will however lend credence to cierre missing the first couple practices as a time served action and that kelly would be sitting him for either 1 game, or whatever it turns out to be. it's too convenient. and yes, i prescribe to most conspiracy theories.

Try reading what I wrote, counselor.

We can question and rant till the cows come home but we have no standing in the process, do we?

ResLife isn't a legal proceeding but rather an administrative process which we aren't a party to, are we?

So are opinions are relevant to the process, are they?

The fallibility or infallibility of ResLife isn't at issue. Nice red herring.

If you feel so strongly on the issue why don't you provide legal counsel to ND Students who run afoul of their code of conduct.

I'm not sure what you're arguing. I didn't say that I had a strong opinion about the situation. I was only defending the poster's right to have an opinion on a Res Life situation, not claiming he had standing with regard to the process. I don't think he was confused about it either, you just replied to his post expressing his opinion by saying nobody's opinion matters because it is a Res Life issue, and I don't get what those two things have to do with each other. I respect your knowledge on these subjects, but sometimes I think you act with too much haste in smacking people down.

We beat Navy by 40 last year with Wood rushing for 65 yards. I pray it's only 1 game, but even 2 wouldn't be a big deal.

This sucks. And, yeah, disappointing.
Really hope it's just a one-gamer. Because while I appreciate the "next man in" philosophy as much as anyone, the attrition is getting a little troubling considering they haven't even started playing actual games yet. Would feel much better if Amir Carlisle was healthy.

Well you got Riddick starting which is not a bad thing! GA3 who really all he needs is to start getting carries because he looks to be a starter very soon anyways. Then hopefully Amir is getting closer to seeing the field with his health being a slow process but making progress. Mahone could possibly see touches and Toma and Neal could also. Not worried!

All true. But right now, Cierre Wood is our best running back. I'd rather he be on the field than not.

Upsetting is all I can say. I saw on the local news last night about a running back possibly being suspended and first thing that came to my mind was Cierre Wood. We may have depth at the running back position, but if we lose Wood for more than 2 games our experience is gone. This is a horrible decision by Wood, I am a huge fan of his, and I hope he learns, but I agree with a suspension. I was going to take him in my football fantasy...but I'll take him late if I can since I don't know how many games he is suspended.

^This.

Also, I'm pretty sure Wood wasn't caught with weed or arrested. Seems like a lot can't separate that from testing positive by the team or NCAA. In many cases, there's a huge difference.

Beyond those issues, Wood is very underrated. We can manage against Navy, but anything beyond that and we'll learn quickly why Wood is so underrated.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when Riddick goes off against Navy's tiny defense for 200 haha

No doubt. I was expecting 150 yards and 2 or 3 touchdowns from him game 1 but he's not gonna be playing and I am not gonna lose any sleep over it. If we can't beat Navy and Purdue without him, we have a lot bigger problems. If anything this will spread some carries out amongst the other backs and give them some much needed experience. Then Cierre comes back for hopefully MSU and is well rested and ready to prove any doubters wrong. See I'm an eternal optimist with a team that has broken my heart for 20 years!

3 game suspension for testing positive seems ridiculous given the fact that second hand smoke can cause you to test positive.

This is what I am wondering. I may have missed it but do we know anything for sure about this?

I believe that at least one ND writer (Sampson from Rivals?) has more or less confirmed it. He just doesn't know the length of the suspension. It seems to be confirmed that he is suspsended but it could be anywhere from 1-3 games.

Take it easy fellas. Lord have mercy on some of you.

And as a fanbase I think we need to get behind the TEAM as well as Cierre. I mean this is a prime example of ND Nation loving a kid one day, then destroying him the next, for a mistake that they dont know the facts on.

Like stated earlier by someone if he was caught with possession of drugs/etc then everyone would know about it. Theres a reason this is not public knowledge.

Kid's make mistakes. I hope this whole situation impacts him positively. As far as the team goes, 2 games is best case. This has been a rough off season. I hope the negative behaviors trend downwards. This is ND, and a high moral standard is implied, even if they are just kids.

This is disappointing. But hopefully he has learned his lesson. We will be fine against purdue and navy, some are making a bigger deal out of this than it is. Theo will hopefully make the best of the oppurtunity

It shouldn't hurt the team in the two games, but as a leader on offense and for the team, he let his teammates down. I hope he learns from his f-up and makes it up to his teammates by keeping clean and kicking butt the rest of the season.

Haven't seen a press release detailing what he did...so I can't comment other than to say..

COME ON C ! DAMN !

two games out of your senior campaign...thats the stuff regret is made of, and regret is poison. Learn from it C, and then put it down and move forward.
