Welcome aboard Will! Hope the staff views him as having ability to play CB and a "flex" prospect.... all things considered, I want another 4:s: style WR like Boyd or Hunter.

Staff is definitely going after one more big WR. Fuller can play both ways. Great pickup

Fuller Makes Switch (Free)

There were really only two schools Will Fuller wanted to go to, Penn State and Notre Dame.

On Sunday, the 2013 Philadelphia wide receiver switched his verbal commitment from the Nittany Lions to the Irish on his Facebook page, confirming what Irish Sports Daily heard heard from multiple sources earlier in the day.

The 6-foot, 170-pounder gives Notre Dame 19 verbal commitments in the Class of 2013 and its third pledge at the wide receiver position, joining James Onwualu and Corey Robinson. Fuller visited South Bend for the first time this weekend and obviously left impressed.

The Nittany Lions offered the 2013 Philadelphia wide receiver after he worked out at their camp and the 6-foot, 170-pounder gave his verbal commitment to Penn State just days later.

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chuck Martin scouted Fuller during the spring evaluation period and it looked like an offer was on its way, but Penn State’s offer came first and Fuller jumped on it.

The Irish got a second chance when the NCAA announced stiff sanctions against Penn State as a result of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Notre Dame didn’t waste any time extending a scholarship to Fuller and despite a trip to Happy Valley last week, he made the visit to South Bend this weekend, where he was greeted by the full Notre Dame staff as well as Onwualu and fellow commits Mike Heuerman and Jaylon Smith.

Fuller also had offers from programs like Boston College, Rutgers, Bowling Green, Temple and Massachusetts among others.

Fuller could complete the Irish’s 2013 receiver haul, but Notre Dame may still look at taking a fourth wideout or an athlete who could play on either side of the ball.

Notre Dame projects Will Fuller as a cornerback or wide receiver. In other words, he's an "athlete" prospect for this class.

Once again Kelly brings in a versatile player where he can line up to best help the team. Time will tell but his philosophy allows for so many options to move players around creating competition and depth.

Let's not go overboard on this one. Hopefully he will be open to playing CB and turns out to be a good one. ND really needs some "game changing" receivers and none of the current 2013 verbals fit this description. Not to say they can't be productive, but if you want to compete for the National Championship you will need better then "productive" players.

Stealing recruits from PSU>>>>>>>>>>

I hate their fans so much and it feels so good.

Also Kinlaw, Butler, and Fuller can all be really good corners, I love this pick up.

Me too! People shouldn't underestimate the versatility he brings. He may not turn out to be a great WR in college but could excell at DB or vice versa. You just never know. I really love the mixture of star power vs under the radar solid prospects in this class! It takes all kinds win championships and that is exactly the approach Kelly has brought with recruiting. Minus Clemson 8-5 teams do not recruit this well. Hopefully with Kelly 8-5 will be the down years changing the culture takes time but I can see a huge difference already! Oh by the way the kool aid is great!

It's funny how soon we forget about last year (Neal and Brown) when we want to try and make an argument.

I mean where are these "game changers" in the 2013 class going to play to with Neal, Brown, Carlise, Ferguson, and at least one (more like at least two) TE(s) on the field. Not to mention Russell is as likely to move back to the Z as he is to stay at CB.

Back to the real point, congrats Fuller. Welcome and Go Irish.
