First, let me say that I don't post much, but tend to check in on IE about every day over lunch. Some great stuff on here. I particularly enjoyed following the Lynch and Tuitt recruiting soap operas. Keep up the good work folks.
Let me preface this by saying it is not your typical ticket question. Last year, my father (and Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran) passed away from cancer at the age of 63 after only 27 days in the local VA hospital. Yesterday, his next brother down in the family tree was diagnosed with renal cancer at the age of 60.
I am an only child and 32 years of age. Married with a 5 year old girl and 3 year old boy. I am coming to the realization that cancer is probably going to be my killer and I am not likely to live through my 60's. With that in mind, I'm kind of having an "oh crap" mid-life crisis moment and feel like I need to start crossing things off my bucket list. Been studying and working too hard all my life.
I attended Catholic School through high school (Sioux Falls, SD O'Gorman graduate - same as the one and only John Lyons!) and am also an avid Notre Dame football fan. One of the things I have not been able to do yet is attend an Irish football game.
Now here is where most of you expect a sappy plea for free or "face value" tickets.....not going to happen. I have done very well in my career as a consulting engineer (electrical power/high voltage). I hold a BSEE from the one and only South Dakota State University (Go Jackrabbits!) and feel very fortunate to be in the position to attend a game.
To get to the point: What is the most reliable, cost-effective option for attending a Notre Dame home game? I have chosen the Michigan game and can go the Stub-Hub route, but it has been my experience that Stub Hub is usually the most expensive online broker. I am willing to spend some coin to go, but want to make sure I am spending it smartly since it will probably be my only game (hence not choosing to go see them play Purdue or something).
Any and all thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
PS - I have 5 season tickets to Jackrabbit football. If anyone wants to trade tickets with me and attend a game in Brookings, SD I'd be happy to! LOL.
