Fun fact passed from Micks60 to me.....

Martini was 1st team all state last year as a Soph.

Randolph was 2nd team all state.
Theres talent there if he is making plays with everyone that his high school was throwing on the field.

Wow. Just...wow. CBK killin' it!

Welcome aboard, Greer!

We always say an early commit is dangerous because of the time we have to hold him. (Makes sense when they commit in, say, March) Can we say when a kid commits this early, we have a strong hand, to keep him on board? When did hunter commit? Asking a few ?'s cuz it is early in the thread

SOME people say that. Others would argue that you have a much better chance of holding on to a recruit than you do of landing or flipping one. Not sure when Hunter committed, sometime around Junior Day - someone correct me if I'm wrong. Elmer, on the other hand, committed sometime shortly after the "Under the Lights" game last year. He would be a better barometer here.

WOW! Smart, smart kid. Welcome aboard!

Like Prosise, he seems to overwhelm the competition.

I work with a guy whose sons go to Woodberry. Despite its being a small, exclusive Virginia boarding school that plays some mediocre competition, it has been churning out BCS scholarship players for a while now. This could become a pipeline.

Our last two verbals:
Deeb soph varsity captain
Martini soph all state

Is there a trend? I think I will celebrate this tomorrow with a few tee many martoonies...

And they both play LB. Solid anchors for the D. Martini shakes the IE world, doesn't just stir it (obligatory Drink reference).

No where near katzenmoyer, and not even similar styles of play

Since this is his Sophmore film I really shouldn't be comparing him to anybody. I wasn't so much talking about his tackling as I was his ability to create the turnover. That's just who I immediately thought of when I saw all the fumble recoveries and int's. I remember watching him when I was a kid and it seemed like every game he would force a turnover. Anyways that's more what I meant.

Last night I get a text saying "I think we got a 2014 guy" and before I could reply I got a tweet by the same person welcoming the commitment. lol Man does news go through and get confirmed quickly nowadays.

Welcome aboard Greer.

Greer Martini, the only martini that leaves the people shaken or stirred.

Is this you're subtle way of trying to tell us you and turning point are texting buddies, Beau?
Hmm good question Alex.

What is two bullets and a bimbo, and a splash of Russian vodka.

I'll take Sean Connery for $500.

Don't you order yours with a strong side of Grace Jones, Johnny?

The recruiting services are showing Martini as an OLB. I think he looks like an ILB. What do you got?

It looked to me like he was the Mike on his film but I'm not sure. Most of the tweets I saw said ILB and I agree probably where he plays for us.

Watched his film again, and boy do I like this young man. Reminds me of Michael Stonebreaker the way he is always near the ball, always picking up the fumble, always making the pick. You can't measure that, it is part intelligence and understanding the game, and part coaching, but the main ingredient is just God given. Some guys have it. Mr. Martini has "it".

Kind of reminds me of Brendan Moynihan, ability to intercept and nose for the ball and all.
