I'm not picky. I'll take either.

But I agree Hargreaves is a bit better.

Who do you guys feel more confident in Alexander or Hargreaves? ( though both are probably long shots)

Id say Alexander, it seems hes shown trrue nterest to show up unofficially for a long visit. To me it seems like if Hargreaves wants to official up here to see and experience the great campus.

Although both are slim to none

I'd Say Alexander as well, as stated above his long weekend visit shows good signs of his high interest in Notre Dame.

Though I would completely disagree they are both slim to none, are there any optimistic fans out there?

His coach stated he never takes visits and for a kid that never takes visits to stay on campus from Wed-Mon I would say that's a pretty good sign, well a better sign then "Slim to none" that we have him highly interested in ND. He comes from a poor neighborhood in south florida, which probably means his family doesn't come from a lot of money, so for them to make the trip to SB, IND and stay for that long, I would say they may not be putting all their eggs in one basket, but their putting a majority of them in there.

All IMO.

This is actually a very good debate topic. You could argue at the moment getting a guy like Alexander would be the steal to beat because we need a star CB in the worst way to complete this defense. Then you have Te'o who represents everything we all value about this school to the highest degree. IMO, Te'o is the biggest steal because of what he has done here and who he helped bring in once he got here. I don't think we would have ever gotten the kids in the front seven that we have now without him. Hopefully Mac sees what he has in front of him and joins up to make this defense a top 10 unit for the time that he could be here.

II interviewed Hueurman and when asked about MacKensie he said that he (MacKensie) was blown away and that he gets "it" from a academics point of view. Article was really encouraging.

That's the kind of stuff you like to hear! I like how he know the tradition here and what you just shared and that he believes if he comes here that he could go down as one of the greats to play here! Would just be phenomanole!

"He gets it" is getting used more than RKG this year

I'll be much happier when Alexander is quoted with similar thoughts. He keeps things pretty close to the vest though.

Kid would be a huge pull.

awe, thanks. Though I am surprised you would pick me out of the other optimists on the board. I must have irritated you in some way.

Though I kind of agree that we have a better chance than "slim to none" with Alexander for the exact reasons that have been stated about the visit itself and his circumstances. Though it doesnt really matter, if he doesnt commit to ND, the pessimists will hold true to the slim-to-none chance, because they will never be proven wrong.

I'm sure he "gets it," but it's still so early in the process. If this kid doesn't visit places on his own dime, he's going to take his officials. He'd be crazy not to. Let's wait and see what that list looks like, and where we stand on it.
But, so far, so good.

I actually like our chances here. I like the fact that this kid came to visit and is actually staying as long as he is. I can see us in the drivers seat if he has a great visit...not saying were a lock.., but one would have to think we have a decent shot witb him assuming he has a good visit. I will cross my fingers and hope for the best.

It's always hard to pull big-time players out of Florida because there are three in-state powerhouses (at least traditionally) and a ton more regional competition. Your family and freinds are almost certainly hoping you choose one of those schools so they get to be part of your college career. How can you knock a kid for putting family first (not to say the family should always being putting promximity first, but that is a differnt matter)?

On the other hand, I love our chances with quiet, thoughtful kids that are willing to travel on their own dime because of what ND offers. If you are willing to work, and interested in developing academically and spiritually, ND really is unique (note: I did not say objectively superior).

Here's hoping!

I'll say it for you: ND is objectively superior to every school in Florida.

247 update sounds VERY positive.

Most tight lipped recruit ever. Might commit before his season. Already planning a return trip.

Is it safe to say we are his leader? Haven't heard much about any other schools and he already is planning a second visit

Don't know anything about where the other schools stand recruiting him but if he is planning return trip and could commit before season I'm feeling pretty good. Maybe after spending time at home he will miss ND and thatll help him realize he wants to be in South Bend. Crossing my fingers and being cautiously optimistic here

Btw if he doesn't commit before the season he said he will wait until the AA game. Doesn't want any distractions during the season.

Also has no other visits planned at this time.

We dont lead. There about seven schools have a equal chance in this. Kid doesn't talk so thats why no one has a clear picture on his recruitment.
