You guys need to remember so guys just fit the system better. Maybe Dorian didn't. I sure would love to have him but maybe hes not the right fit for the blocking scheme.

GB, not disagreeing nor arguing, but with his quickness, and size, I'd be hard pressed not believe he wouldn't fit into the pulling/zone blocking scheme being employed by the coaches.....just don't see him not fitting.

If he didn't fit the system (which you are not claiming specifically) why did they offer him and bring him to campus?

Technically he visited campus on his own dime they didn't pay for him to visit and just because he might not be a perfect fit doesn't mean that if they didn't whiff on a couple of others that they wouldn't have taken his commitment. Not trying to argue but just trying to post a different view.

No I completely agree with all of that.

It's just tough for me to buy anything other than not having the necessary room.

He's tall enough, he's big enough, he's athletic enough. It has to be space.

I'm kind of with Busta on this one. I understand there was mutual flirtation before the 4 OL gave their verbals to ND and that Dorian paid his own way to visit campus. But if the offer was contingent on those 4 guys NOT committing or the staff didn't ever really feel he fit their scheme, then why let it go that far? Obviously I (we) am not privy to the conversations the staff had with him, but it does seem strange that a player of need, a player that seems like could play multiple positions on the OL, a player that could perhaps even play DL, and a player that the services seem to like more than the others in the fold is told NO. Especially considering there is sentiment gathering that ND is really in the mix for a 5th OL committing soon. And add in that Dorian is a family member of somebody on staff.

I trust Kelly and Co. on this. Just seems strange.

Now the #11 overall player and a 98 :s::s::s::s::s: on 247

#2 OT

Jesus Christ... I have never seen someone skyrocket around like this.... it's impossible to be displeased with the OL haul we have... but wow.

Hopefully he ends up at Penn State and not Pitt?

As of right now Pitt and PSU are tied. Will visit OSU soon and that could obviously shake things up.

Wow. That's insane. What happened here, didn't he basically come away from ND wanting to commit but being told they were full, or something of that nature? Sorry, don't remember.

Who knows about grades..off the field stuff that booker would prob know...just throwing it out there but I doubt they would pass on this kind of talent if there wasn't some kind of reasoning...I know a lot of couch coaches think they know more than what is going or more than BK...but something must have spooked them

I still haven't seen it confirmed that ND cooled on Dorian. I heard conflicting reports that he didn't want to be the fifth lineman taken. I'm not positive ND pulled the scholly.

He looks great as an athlete but then so did Standifer. If only Standifer had thought to take a Foreign Language. Where does Johnson stand on his Foreign Language requirements for ND Admissions or the other core courses ND requires? Is he on track or did he learn on his visit, he's got a ways to go?

Yuri Wright looked great as an athlete. Apparently had the grades for NDAdmissions. Hmmm, must have been some other issue that caused a parting of the ways, ND wasn't full up at DB.

Schutt ring any bells?

PANDFAN it is amazing how many ND fans that follow recruiting forget year after year that there's more to an ND scholarship than athletic ability and an open slot at that position.

And then there are guys like Ifeadi that everything it takes but chose to go elsewhere for reasons of their own.

Update a couple days ago saying Pitt > Penn St. by a little, with OSU, WVU in the mix. Will likely decide next month. He is still planning to visit OSU and WVU next month as GITF said a while back.

JC Shurburtt was on Bill King's radio program today and said the same thing. He thought the fact that Pitt's OL coach came from Wisconsin and their OL success is a big draw.

Per 247

Pitt still leads after OSU visit, OSU definitely gained ground though

Will visit PSU & West Virginia soon and may decide, a delayed decision would likely work in OSUs favor

Good for him, I hate that we couldn't find the room for him. I wouldnt trade any of the guys we got, but he would have been a very nice addition. Glad he didn't go with Pitt!
