Everyone would love to have him but he seems like he would decommit at some point because he is impressed by other schools easily

ND has led since extending an offer. He visited UF and still has us in the lead. Only thing he changed is his announcement date...but so did Jaylon and Isaac.

True, I guess we will just have to watch and see. That's all we can do anyways

He did decommit from UCONN, didn't he?

Yes. He committed to them on 2-25 and decommitted less than a moth later, 3-18 to be exact. Right after he decommitted offers were coming from everywhere. When he committed to UCONN, he only had offers from 4 schools

He probably rushed into that commitment but that is before his recruitment started to blow up. Can't blame a kid for decommitting from UCONN when he gets ND, Bama, and Florida offers.

Yeah, you gotta watch those moths, sometimes they get to close to the flames and . . .

(There I said it.)
It's happened before and at somepoint in time it will happen again. It happens to every school

Who wouldn't de-commit from Uconn? Kinda kidding but any player with talent enough to go to a major BCS school would have to have a real reason beyond football to go there. Sorry if that stepped on toes, just my opinion.

We seemed to have concluded that he is a real risk to de-commit. Really? Show me/us your proof beyond guessing about his psych after the UConn de-commitment.

Well, I think most of the talk regarding Ebenezer stems from the decommits last year and the sour taste it left. I think it is fair to expect one or two decommits in a class these days and out fo the 14 commits we have so far, EVERYONE seems to be solid, so when people see Ebenezer's recent history, it is the outcast of the group and people are putting up a preemptive defense.

honestly though, he did have a pretty good reason for decommiting, like someone said, why would you go to UConn when you have offers from multiple BCS contending schools?

Just seems like some are trying to put a risky label on a kid/recruit that we want. Seems inappropriate to speculate on his commitment when this could affect his ultimate decision.

He certainly shouldn't be labeled based on other's unrelated past.

He can read too or we wouldn't have offered. Just sayin.....

In my short time following recruiting, I've noticed these 7 "risk factors" for a decommit:

1. Has already decommitted once. Self explanatory.

2. Is waiting on a "dream school" offer. When/if that school offers, all bets are off.

3. Commits on a visit while originally intending to visit other schools after. If he committed because of "arm twisting" from a coach or simply a rushed decision he may very well want to look around.

4. Decision made before start of the season and is not to a "dream school." If a player chooses his "leader" or "school he likes best" at the time and then they have a bad year/drama on the field there is a high risk of decommitment.

5. High volume of tweets/comments about how awesome they are/their "swag." Shows they are self-centered and won't have qualms about leaving a coach/school high and dry.

6. Pushy/vocal parents. Very dependent on the parents, sometimes this can be an influence towards sticking, but a lot of times parental pressures can cause decommits.

7. Distance. If a kid is committed to go to a school far from home, some kids will get second thoughts about that.

It seems like Ebenezer would only have 2 of the 7... maybe 3 of the 7 if you consider semi-nearby Syracuse is in his top group... so, like most kids who commit before the season, there'd certainly be a risk of a decommit but I think people are maybe overstating things right now. He seems to have all of the offers he wants and seems to be making his visit rounds and not rushing to a decision.

When kids de-commit from ND our fans let them know how they feel. I agree with ya bud, not so much on this site or any pay-site for that matter. It's these guys on twitter and Facebook that are hurting. To be honest I like their enthusiasm but can't stand the way they try to contact these kids like they know them. I know where a lot of you stand with Bang Bang and I am with you. That is not the light I want to be looked in when people talk about our fan base.

He's not going to decommit if he comes here just like Hounshell, Nick Martin, and Everett Golson.

Agree 100%.. He's shown no behavior to conclude a possible decommit.... In fact, maybe we should let him commit first before we go labeling kids.

And Stephon Tuitt, Jarron Jones the list goes on...

Some of u act like there is a gene in players that if they decommit or change their leader they are not trustworthy ever again

So, we all can agree. No two recruits are the same, just like with people. Hey, recruits are just like people! Wait a minute . . .

Sorry if I missed something but why are we talking about a potential decommit before the kid commits to us. Seems stupid but I think I'm missing something besides the fact that he decommitted from Uconn

He has again changed his timeline. Now, he thinks he will decide in July or Aug. rather than June. This is like the 5th time he has changed this timeline.

Given our poor history with recruits that had even less "flakiness" than him, I wonder why we should even bother.

Really he changed it again? Well I guess I'll check back on Signing Day for him. Still really like his talents and would love to cheer for him on Saturdays, but he's gotta be a Domer for that to happen.

He's pushing back the most important decision of his life to this point and that is "flakiness"? Got it.

He should take all the time he needs. And ND should "bother" because he is a good football player with a genuine interest in ND.

It's not that he is pushing it back it's that he first said he would announce at the UA game, then in August, then the UA game, then August again, then June, and how July or August.

He went from ND as the leader when they offered to no leader and ND and Alabama as the favorites within a week, to ND the leader again when he visited and no Bama at all, to now apparently UF as the leader.

I wouldn't call it "flakiness" either but this definitely raies an eyebrow.

WHO GIVES A **** WHEN HE PICKS!!!! The longer the better IMO. Why are people attacking him here? I hope he or his family dont read this. It's his decision, he can make it whenever the hell he wants too! Who the **** are we to say anything about his character??? If he comes to ND I want him to make the decision when he is ready, if he choses elsewhere....so be it.
