Our lines are stacked which gives us a chance against anyone, IMO. This means we run the ball well and they don't. That is a very high indicator of success.

Now, if our defense starts forcing more turnovers and get the attitude of looking to score instead of just stop..... Vernon has to go Irish b/c he knows pressured QBs throw wounded ducks to CBs which leave half the field open for highlight reel returns.

Oh, and talented hungry depth charts make for better special teams blockers for more highlight reel PR and KR.

Just drawing it back to Hargreaves. Let's leave #3 open for VH III.

Huge IF...Surprising how positive recruiting news seems to be changing the outlook of the 2012 season...

I wasn't implying that the recruiting success for the 2013 class in any way will have an impact on game days. I think it's beyond legitimate to believe that winning on Saturdays in the fall, will pay dividends come signing day.

The schedule does look ridiculous. I believe MSU and Stanford have some big question marks just like we do at QB and WR. Notre Dame has more talent than both of those teams. I think our schedule strength will be in the top 10 when the season is over. Injuries and playing a demoralized team is impossible to take into account. If a QB were to get injured on Oklahoma, michigan, or usc that turns the tables a little bit. Michigan plays bama the opening week and if I were a betting man I would bet that they lose that game by double digits. The Sooners play Texas 2 weeks before Notre Dame. I know that Michigan and Oklahoma won't have a hard time getting up for the Irish. You just never know what a team will go through over the course of a season.

We need to beat Michigan. Starting off 2-2 (or 1-3 if you're a dreamer) before the beginning of B1G conference play would put a dark cloud over their little resurgence.

I think we get some legit interest from Hargreaves if we have a good season. I think right now he's just humoring Jaylon because he's showing respect to a fellow top 10 recruit.

I was just noting that it was interesting that good news in recruiting had a carry-over effect and gave many ND fans (me included) more optimism for the upcoming season. Not sure what you thought I was saying...

We can still take a 3rd CB like a Cole Luke and have room for VHIII. It a definitely possibility that we take 4 DBs (CB/S). While we cant turn VHIII away, we dont have the luxury of waiting for him either... Cole Luke would be a great addition that we cannot turn down.

We would never turn down a player like VHIII, espcially with a postion we are in great need of.

like i said, you dont turn down VHIII, but you dont wait forever and turn down 2-3 high quality recruits just because you have a small chance with VHIII. I dont care how good you think a player is, playing games like that will only get you 9 recruits a season.

I agree with GB that some are way to confident. Don't know if it is because Jaylon tweeting at him and him scheduling a visit or what but as others have said, get them on campus. It is all we can ask for at this point.

I think we NDHoosier is trying to say is we shouldn't put all our eggs in Vernon's basket. Yes, we have the luxury of waiting on him but not wait on him exclusively.

The staff knows this much, so nothing to worry about.

Kinlaw and Butler will give us 7/8 at CB in 2013. Could obviously use another stud at the position, especially given the lack of star power among our current starters, but it's not really a position of need unless there are decommits or transfers.

USF is in the lead by a lot IMO. Its not just that his dad coaches there but he has known most of the coaches for the majority of his life.

Florida is 2nd his sister is there and he likes the school.

If he were to leave the state I think it would be for USC. M Kiffin does well in the area and he knows Nelson Agholor.

He doesnt seem like a kid that would go somewhere he didnt know anybody.

So I guess the question is in what scenario would he go to ND?

1. His dad takes a job at another school
2 Sherit does not go to Florida instead chooses ND.
3 USC is full at CB

Sherit and Hargreaves just decided to visit Florida one day last week so I am pretty sure Sherit committing to ND would Hargreaves to take a OV.
