I'd be a lot more concerned if it was his first time meeting Meyer and going to OSU.

I've never seen a recruit's thread veer more off-topic than this one. Guys (myself included) - keep the talk on this thread to Jaylon. Take the other stuff to other threads, or start a new thread on any 'other stuff' you want to discuss. This is getting ridiculous...

I would be a lil worried if it wasnt for the fact that Jaylon is plannin on visiting ND again when Anzalone, Heuerman, and all the other guys are up there....

Rivals mod seems to think Smith is a silent at this point, and will be going then to help recruit the guys still on the fence.

I hate silents, an actual verbal has gotta be better in helping bring other recruits on board.

If he is informing the commits and the coaches and not the public it doesn't really matter. He probably just wants to make it public on his terms. That is IF he is a silent.

In this day and age, I doubt Jaylon could both advertise his commitment to other recruits and keep it under wraps at the same time. It's hard enough to do that when only one's family members know. If he's telling virtual strangers he's committed, it would have leaked by now.

Maybe he is a silent, and he's also recruiting for us but not telling them to say anything so he can have his moment of fame. IDK who/when, but wasn't there reports of others saying 'Talked to Jaylon and I think he's going to announce for ND pretty quickly"?

If so and I'm not misrememberring, maybe that/those are the inevitable 'leaks' you speak of.

I think he is silent. I've heard rumblings of it, and on an unrelated note he just reached out to Hargreaves. Maybe they're talking about ND...

Thats why I said unrelated note... I think it would be more Grubl to say hes silent. It'd be logical to assume they're talking about ND since its one of the schools they have in common. and Philly you want a source for my rumblings? I saw he reached out to Hargreaves on twitter

No I am not saying you. I am just saying in general. Everyone always seems to end up a silent when they have interest in a school and keep visiting without giving their verbal commitment.

/end rant

Ever hear of the Chaos theory? Everything has a pattern. All patterns repeat themselves. They can be seen everywhere (not just paranoid schizophrenia) in nature. I think, if Jaylon commits strongly, we should begin to investigate scientifically to find out if there is a positive correlation between a thread going off topic, and a solid commitment.

Bogg, take your son down to Fort Wayne and have him shake Jaylon's hand.

Here is the deal. I am going to be at Legends for a birthday toast on the 14th. But I have to do it right with him. If he realizes he will be driving four hours that day, he will get very cranky . . .

Nobody have a fourteen year old daughter? He likes older women . . .

Elevenwarriors message board has someone claiming that they say Jaylon has been told that we will use Jaylon some on offense in addition to his natural LB position and claim that this is not second hand information. I don't ever remember seeing this mentioned on this thread. Anyone have any info?

No but I did get a chuckle out of people on there saying it was no big deal missing on Jaylon because of how much they will clean up on 2014 LBs.

I watched him play in person several times over the last couple of years, and he is big threat as a running back. Very fast and powerful. I have heard nothing as far as ND and their plans for him on offense.

All indications point to him playing OLB at either spot.

He offers great flexibility with his coverage and rushing abilities.

He could even play ILB, if need be (not likely).

There has been no mention of him playing offense anywhere.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of athletes playing both ways....those are for the high school teams who can't field a team on both sides of the ball without taking from the other side. Assuming commitment - ND will need Jaylon every snap on defense at full go...like IFam said even the elites get tired. ND has plenty of talent on the other side that they shouldn't need Jaylon on O so why diminish an asset like him by wearing him down.
