I just heard a great story about Corey's dad witnessing to a six-year-old son of his in between play-off games considering communion on a Sunday a few (several) years ago.

Max Lucado was stating what he overheard the young Robinson's father teach him about holy communion and the symbolism involved for the bread-the body, the wine-the blood.

It made me smile.

RKG. Celebrity. But RKG...

I just googled the story. It was Jr. But I'm certain Corey had the same pleasure and we know the same leadership: http://www.maxlucado.com/pdf/Fearless.ch5.pdf

But I encourage you all to read it all. It's a short read but good stuff.

The Robinson's are definitely a model family and a great addition to the ND community.

Corey is something special. He taught himself to play the guitar and drums, he is a classically trained pianist, learned the ukulele on vacation, played the saxophone in middle school, picked up the bass from his dad, is teaching himself to speak French and plans to learn Italian over the summer.

Oh yeah, and he is a freak athlete.

Does this mean his foreign language requirement is satisfied for admissions?

Freebie from ISD. This kid is going to shine at ND.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound wide receiver chose the Irish over offers from Iowa, North Carolina, Kansas, Navy and Wake Forest.

"It's just a perfect fit," he said. "The academics, spirituality and football all blend together really well. The offense they run is really centered to help the wide receivers make plays all over the field. Actually, I couldn't find a reason not to go to Notre Dame if I tried."

It's hard to pick a favorite recruit from this class but if I had to, Corey would be that dude.

Corey's Dad was on the Dan Patrick Show this morning mainly talking basketball, but they talked real quickly about Corey late. dan asked about the risk of concussions and David said it was a real risk but that he trusted ND to take the right precautions and prepare the players the right way.

He really liked Kelly and the rest of the staff as well. Said they are doing a good job with "Yankee-like" expectations.

When asked if Corey would play basketball David said " probably not."

Corey is about the same height as his dad was at this age (6' 4"), and about 20-30 lbs heavier. David said he thinks he will end up being 6'5-6'6 220 the fall of his freshman year.

I feel like I have seem this post before.

According to Eifert's rivals profile he was 6'6" 220 coming out of Dwenger.
Tyler Eifert - Yahoo! Sports

Corey is listed at 6'4" 195 and still has his senior year. His dad also has started he thinks Corey ends up 6'6".

Yeah Corey will more than likely be the next Tyler Eifert. Just a huge, huge mismatch for DB's and it will be jump ball heaven in the red zone.

Why does his height make him a TE? Calvin Johnson isn't a TE and he's 6'5". Plaxico Burress and Vincent Jackson are both 6'5". Matt Jones was a solid 6'6". Marques Colston is 6'4" and so is Randy Moss. Why does his height make him a TE?

I like him at receiver. Something about seeing him block a linebacker doesn't sit well with me. But seeing him line up against a 5'10"-5'11" corner is another story

I don't see anywhere it saying height makes him a te. My post was in reference to him having the frame to be te. I was comparing his current size with that of our all American te coming out of high school. Height does have something to do with it but isn't the tell all. IMO when he graduates or enters the draft he will be viewed as te.

It's not if he stays the same height that people think he turns into a TE, it's if he grows to be as big as his daddy or even close to that size.

Honestly at what height does he hang up the cleats and pick up the Jordans? Seriously. I'm not saying it's going to happen at all, but what is that figure? Surely you cannot have a 7' dude out there, so is it 6'10?

Bingo.

He has a thinner frame, sure, but once he gets into Longo's system, there is no need to even put him into a labeled category.

(a la Eifert's role this coming season)

Kid can run, catch, and he's tall.... That's all that matters

I've seen a WR, that was perfectly capable, at 6'8". Carlos Singleton played and started for 3-4 years at Memphis while I was an undergrad there. I believe he even got a couple of NFL camp invites (don't think he stuck in the league though). HUGE redzone target to say the least. Just thought I'd add something to the convo.

Love this kid, but maybe you guys are jumping the gun on this one just a bit. I do hope these things happen though.
