I guess this means that if we get an OV, we'll have to impress. Hopefully we're successful with the dual-roles that RBs are going to be doing this year. Shows an elite back like Green what he could do in this offense. I think that's the only way him announcing on signing day works out for us.

Guy that covers his highschools/Tampas recruiting knows his stuff, hasn't been wrong so far whereas Newberg from 247 said early summer

Fwiw Newberg still thinks FSU leads and could still potentially get a verbal before NSD. Apparently his family is good friends the the Fowlers, as in the whole Dante Fowler fiasco of 2012. Gang Green wants to take their time and make a decision that they can stick to 100%, hence the singing day decision timeline.

Personally, I agree with Philly with one caveat. Win baby win.

And FSU drop 3-4.

Actually been trying to post this for the last couple days but I kept getting server errors. Huge pick up for the Noles. Not sure how/if it will effect Green's recruitment, but Yearby ran for 2160yds and 24 tds as a sophomore in what is arguably the toughest high school competition in the nation, FLA 6A big boy football. He plays for Miami Central.

When I was talking to a die hard FSU buddy, he said, "Hope you guys enjoy Green."

Why would green think it would have changed?

Also shows how interested Green is in FSU that he would be that worried.

to me implies he called to see if he still had a spot

This can't hurt us with Mr. Green.

All it shows is his level of interest in FSU.

A RB for the '14 cycle won't keep them from taking a RB this cycle.

“@joshnewberg247: #FSU Recruiting Scoop: Recruiting Scoop: 5/10 Find out why Ryan Green called FSU after hearing of the Joseph Yearby commitment.”

Any closet FSU fans w/ access?

Not a fan at all but know thy enemy.

Ryan and his dad were calling to check and make sure that Yearby's commitment had no effect on him. It doesn't as GITF said. FSU still plans to take 2 this year and 2 next year. The FSU fanbase across the 247 board believe they will take Ryan Green + one of Alex Collins or AJ Turman this year.

I think that it does say something though that he called to find out right away.

I never doubted that FSU would take Green. If it has any effect at all it will affect Ryan in that he may not want a potential 5:s: nipping at his heels, especially with Freeman, Wilder and Pender running the ball ahead of him.

Not saying it will play out like that, or that he fears the competition, just throwing it out there.

According to the guy on II, Green will most likely visit this summer and fall. There is definite interest in ND. Let this one play out.

Yeah, and those visits are on top of those he's already taken. Hopefully the explosiveness of our RBs illustrates to Green what he can do in this offense. Regardless, he's interested in both FSU and ND. I bet if ND had picked up a big 14 RB he'd make the same call.

Freebie from Inside the Irish. Really hope Ryan goes Irish.

On tape, Green is a dynamic prospect, comparing favorably to one-time Irish target Keith Marshall, who ended up picking Georgia after visiting Notre Dame. Green is the shorter and more explosive of the two running backs, and his ability to catch the ball in space and home-run speed play into what the Irish are looking for, especially with big back Will Mahone set to enroll this summer.

Green had the Irish pegged his number one school after visiting this spring, and while Florida State has forced its way into the conversation, the Irish still have as good of a chance as any. Bringing in KeiVarae Russell, Mahone and Amir Carlisle last year helps the Irish be more selective this cycle. But with Isaac’s decision to head to Southern California, the top of the Irish board just narrowed itself down.

With Ty Isaac to USC, RB focus stays on Ryan Green | Inside the Irish

I feel like Green is the must get on offense this year, it seems like every year at the RB position we miss out on the one everyone wants and it would be nice to finally pull in the guy. This is nothing against GAIII because he was originally recruited to be a WR.

GA III was a high school rb though. He is playing his natural position.
