Focusing on the good here, Young was the best defensive lineman in my opinion. He was one of the guys I wanted to see pop to really believe in this team. Hard to feel more confident in the defense right now, considering who we were missing. Offense is another story.

Man what a game!

I feel we’re back to the bend don’t break mentality though. Should’ve, could’ve, would’ve I guess.

We should absolutely have looked more polished in my opinion. How much is ND paying for the accolades of the D-Line players?

Where was anything resembling a solid passing game or rushing offense (credit Wisconsin). Why couldn’t we get pressure early and often? Afraid of a rushing QB? Not ND!, best DB backfield in the country, with who on the D-Line? Right?

It’s not going to go over well when we face a legitimate team. Luckily it wasn’t one of them out the gate! Or many of you would be burning the entire town down.

Denbrock should not be employed, and Chris Ash should go take a seat somewhere. We are currently over rated based off that performance.

This isn’t the sky is falling type of a situation. This is a dam, here we go again type situation. Just an ugly performance from a team that is supposed to be one of the top teams in the country. This is how you lose to Northern Illinois. Can any of you say you honestly think that what we saw is worthy of being a team ranked in the top five in the country?

I was looking forward to a rematch with Miami, but after that, I’m not.

We just gotta see more.

Loooooong time ND fan here, with high expectations.

I’ll see my way out.

Did anyone touch on the ‘Catholics vs Alcoholics’ shirts?? Lol
Catholics vs Alcoholics? Where I come from that's called a "family feud."
And I'm still holding my breath one how much that revealed about LSU. I think Clemson is a 4-8/5-7 football team.
I think there was a lot of emotion on the LSU sideline and program. That coupled with a night game in Death Valley is a powerful combination. The thing about playing with emotion like that is that it's hard to sustain for 12 games. I think LSU will be good, but I'm still not sure they're real contenders. There is a real possibility Kiffin's tenure follows a similar track to Kelly's in that the first year is the best. After this season that LSU DC will likely be a head coach somewhere and Kiffin is similar to Lincoln Riley in his inability to consistently care about defense and hire good coaches on that side of the ball.
11 straight wins. All by double digits
IIRC our average margin of victory is like 28 points.

Good lord dude, take a breath. A crappy performance resulting in covering the spread and beating a mid-tier B1G team by 28 bodes very well for the rest of the year. Lot of time to work out the kinks before the games against BYU and Miami.

Raise your hand if you thought m Gilbert would have more catches than M Graham

Also; I don’t think K Keeley played at all

I feel like a conversation with @Dale is like dealing with the representative for the Alaskan Bush people. It doesn’t make sense but it’s absolutely valuable.

Raise your standards Dale! You must be an engineer?

With all the 12 personnel they ran in 2H, wouldn’t mind seeing Nolan James split out in motion from the backfield. Could be a matchup nightmare.

Biggest question mark was the offensive playcalling...wayyy too conservative. He should be in the box like last year...did he want to breathe the night air or something?

He's going to be a good weapon for us, even if he's not a pure top-tier RB.

Ive been monitoring the Wiscy boards... We nearly got 2 HC's fired during the season in 2 years

Theyre sad and I feel for them

I like Wisconsin. They deserve better

TIFWIW:

PFF had Christian Gray, Mukam, Keeley and Sanders with really bad grades on D. Tionne Gray, Shuler, Moore, Young and Brewu as really good grades

Brewu, Traore and Young combining for 10 pressures, 6 hurries and 2 sacks as well as 7 run stops.
Sounds about right.

Wisconsin and Penn State in 3 weeks should be fun.
Yeah for Penn State only. Campbell is a very good coach who has been underemployed for too long at Iowa St. Becht can sling it
and has been underrated for a long time. Nittany Lions will not be an easy foe for any team. No way Wisconsin and Joseph will be able to keep up.

We now know due to Wisconsin's insane punt that we have a QB sneak under center play that has been practiced and it worked pretty damn well. So there is no reason from an analytics perspective that we should be in shotgun on 4th and 1 (and arguably 3rd and 2 in high leverage moments) right?

Depends on the shotgun formation. 11 personnel and the defense has to respect the pass? I don’t hate it. Shotgun formation running a power toss to the short side of the field (what FSU did last night)? Yeah, don’t do that.

Goal line gun formation has a greater likelihood of holding penalty and giving up a safety as well. Uc qb sneak holding call is non existent

Not a “sky is falling situation”, just the run of the mill, fire both coordinators, after a 4 touchdown win situation.
