One area where the Windians should have an advantage over either the Dodgers or Cubs is base-stealing. The Indians lineup is not exactly murderer's row, and so the Tribe needs to steal early and often to take advantage of chances. Some interesting data:

Not sure how the Tribe can get this done without their #2 and #3 starters. Looks like the Cubs may luck out. Also, our lineup has to hit better than it did in the ALCS. The only thing that gives me a little hope is home field advantage and the fact we shut down both Boston and Toronto's lineups. If Carasco and Salazar were healthy I would think Cleveland would be even up to win. Right now I unfortunately think Cubs in 6.

I've banned myself from watching Cleveland in the post season again. Every Cavs post season game I watched, they ended up losing. Banned myself from watching any others after that Game 4 loss to Golden State.

So, I extended that to the Indians this season. Indians start sweeping through the playoffs, I broke down and ended up watching Game 4 against the Blue Jays, and that ended badly. No more for me now, I know the curse I bring to the table.

I hope you are kidding. I promise that you have no effect on the team. Enjoy your team in the WS bud. Could be another 20 years.

Kluber is dealing tonight.
Already set one WS record.

Yeah, gonna pass given the way it sounds to be going...for Cleveland. I'm okay watching a replay. I watched Mesa throw the last World Series for the Tribe. I was there for my first game at ND when they lost to BC in '93. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Overall I've got a horrible track record when big games are on the line.

Sooo it's not Kelly, Longo, BVG, Minter, Pees, Weis, Davie, Willingham, Beauchamp, Wadsworth, nor Monk ... at long last the culprit responsible for the two decade slide is identified.

It should be noted I was also there for the '05 USC game, 2000 Nebraska, '09 USC, and handfuls of lesser but equally demoralizing games like '08 Syracause and USF 2011. Oddly enough I have a really good track record against Michigan though, all of our last 5 home wins except for that flukey 2010 loss where Crist came out for a half and no one knew about that Denard Robinson guy. I finally got to attend a USC win at home last year too, after attending 5 straight home losses from '03-'11 (I missed the 2013 game, go figure).

Not yet. Just occasionally checking the score online. No radio/tv.

I fully endorse your methods. Went to bed after the 3rd Qtr. of game 7 of the NBA finals. Sometime you just got to do what you got to do.

It was the same way during the Toronto series. Low strikes are being called but no consistency overall.

I thought the strike zone last night was horribly inconsistent. I will give Lester and Cubs credit for trying to change the zone ( I think they did ) but it was clear to me that the strike zone on the right side of the plate (catchers perspective) was more forgiving than the left. On top of that, he squeezed the lower part of the zone and was loose on the high end in the later innings. It's one thing to call balls and strikes that way all game, but last night he changed up the zone as the game went along and it bothered me.

Miller got squeezed, imo, during his two innings and that probably added 10-15 pitches to his outing. That said, the Cubs still knew what to do against him -take tons of pitches, and go after the weaker pitches- and were able to do it. They also have excellent hitters. For anyone to get a hit off him is extremely rare. He needs to get ahead in counts and then make them lay off the slider multiple times from an 0-2 count, rather than from a 2-1/3-1 count.

A rainout tonight would be good for the Tribe because it probably makes Miller available; as it is, I doubt he can pitch today. It also means Bauer's exploding drone-hand has another day to heal. Does anyone know if his hand won't start bleeding again? I honestly have no idea.

When he threw on Sunday they reported no blood or pain but who really knows. Tribe needs at least 5 innings out of him tonight.
