I'm thinking maybe it is related to Tyree. He said he knows where he wants to commit so maybe he's already told the staff but is waiting to publicly announce it next week. EJ may have been told he committed but doesn't want to spoil it for Tyree so he just tweeted the Starbucks to let fans know good news is on the way. Just my take

Singer from Rivals met with Tyree right before he announced his commitment date and top 3 so maybe he got intel saying it was ND and EJ pulled the trigger on coffee cup. Either way. Something is happening soon and I’m pumped to see someone else in the class soon.

I believe I remember seeing where Tyree said he had made his decision and he would announce in 5/23 so that leads me to believe he likely told the coaches and possibly EJ but of course asked to keep it under wraps until he announces. At least I hope that's what is going on 😉

Presumably the coffee is meant to be a Glengarry Glenn Ross reference and just means "Notre Dame closed on a kid" and not "a commitment is coming imminently"

It sounds like all communication with McG is now severed. Don't know that we need a backup but the coaches are interested in Melton.

There is no guarantee that he wants us but I don't think anyone is certain of how this will play out down the stretch. We really need some secondary/WR resolution so we can see how many spaces we have left. I'd love to add Cody.

I’ll bet dollars to donuts that Elston isn’t losing any sleep over the whims of a hometown kid. He did his job and he did it well. He has moved on. Time for others to do the same.
