Because Hiestand knows more than you?

Absolutely

But he is making magic this year with a line of 5 stars and high 4 stars.

I suspect if he was playing all the 3 stars recruits we got over the past 5 years we would not be 8-1.

In fact have any 3 star and los four star linemen even played in the past 4 seasons.

Define Low 4*. McG and Mustipher were .92's & .91's respectively.

Why don't you do the research and report back without bias rather than spouting off about who Hiestand wants to take this year?

I did a little research

Starting line

McG 4 star top 200 player
Nelson 4/5 star 57 best overall
Mustipher high 4 star 118 overall
Bars high 4 star 160 Overall
Kraemer 4/5 star 46 overall
Hainsey high 4 star 86 overall

recruits this year

Cole Mabry 3 star 641 overall
Dirksen not complete coverage 3 star 500ish overall
Luke Jones as it happens 3 star 528 overall

My very basic research says that the three we recruited/recruiting are nothing like the players we are playing. Not even close.

Now I can take it on good faith that HH knows and Snoopdog knows nothing. But the films are not actually supporting that point of view.

But like I said ......what do I know.

So your research consists of this year alone? Ok, cool.

But also know that you cant strike gold every year. If you recruit 4 OL a year, that is 16-20 on scholarship which means you have 4 strings of OL. This year RT, Kraemer is a sophomore which means someone who is a Sr or Jr is sitting the bench or doing practice squad. If everyone was a 4 star, you would have a lot of OL leaving when they dont play. Not saying everyone has to be top rated as you can find gems in the rough that didnt get the exposure with camps, etc but you also cant have a team of egos or no one will sit

One CB being mentioned on another board (no confirmation) is Minnesota commit Terell Smith. 6-0, 175, 4.4 speed out of South Gwinnett HS in greater Atlanta area. Plays against top level Georgia competition. TWIW.

Just was checking follows and posted it in his thread. BK followed him Joe Wilkins and Luke Jones in order since 10-25.

Also action on TCU Commit, Trevon Moehrig

19 current commits. Somehow 5-6 spots remain: WR, OT, LB, CB, CB, best available

Tier 1:
ASB WR
Cade Mays OT
Nicholas Petit-Frere OT
Kyler Gordon CB
Alontae Taylor CB

Tier 2:
Solomon Tuliaupupu/Dax Hollifield/Payton Wilson LB
Chase Cota WR
Lawrence Keys WR
Julius Irvin CB
Noah Boykin CB

Tier 3:
Tariq Bracy CB
Chris Smith CB
Kingsley Enagbare SDE
Luke Jones OT
Hunter Woodard OT
Tommy Tremble TE
Avonta Crim S
Terell Smith CB (If offered)
DJ Brown CB (If offered)

The WR, OT (unless they take two and assume Mays isn't that serious), and LB boards do not seem to have timelines for movement prior to the banquet weekend. If one is to pop before, its another another CB - Boykin.

I hope your tiers are in terms of need and not quality of player

Need some clarification regarding offers please.

5-6 spots left dozens of offers out. What happens if 10-12 commit the same day. I mean they do have an offer. Is it first come first serve? Or otherwise.

Thanks.

I would scratch any LB or DL on the list. I would also scratch Boykin and Taylor from the list.

I'm a big fan of Lawrence Keys for one of the remaining spots. Obviously I hope St. Brown comes to ND, but I would love to see us get Keys. Kid has great speed. A true burner at the WR spot.

I would be happy either way. Both are tremendous talents. I just don’t want to see ASB at Stanford or USC, and if it’s not us, it’s likely one of them.
