So I've checked my gas line situation and it seems easy enough. But having never done it, I'm nervous to DIY it.

It really shouldn't be that difficult.

Just remember the soap bubble test ... and righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.

Oh, and ignore any advice you might get from Koon ...

I like to hold a lighter over the line and move it back and forth looking for little flame bursts.

Better thee than me, my daredevil, devil-may-care friend!

I had an "incident" years ago with a gas stove that left me with a melted mustache, gray ash where my luxurious blonde hair had been and, days later, weeping sores on the tip of my nose, on my cheeks and on my chin.

I was finally grateful that I wore glasses since they shielded my eyes.

Overly cautious caution is my final answer when dealing with gas connections.

Ditto. Soaps cools too if you feel it's safer. Pipe dope on male threads, i stay away from tape but works in a pinch.

Easy DIY and will save you decent money. If you feel nervous, just hit your main and call fd to check with meters.

For real tho. Have you ever tried fresh green beans, opposedto the green beans sold in a can? Yuge difference.
Canned green beans are foul. Not as bad as canned peas, but truly awful. I won't eat them, period. Frozen are okay in a pinch but fresh is so, so good.

I feel like that story is detailing child abuse and I need to invite you to my mother's Thanksgiving to enlighten you.

Fresh green bean casserole
Homemade truffle Mac n cheese
Fresh mashed potatoes with real gravy made from stock
Yams
Seven layer salad
Turkey with all the trimmings

When I die, I want these things in my casket with me.
Ever have cornbread casserole? It's exactly what it sounds like...

Anyone ever do a spiral cut ham on the grill? We usually do in crock pot but supposed to be so nice that seems like a shame

My mother in law invited us to go to Saint Thomas for Christmas. How about "no"?
I've known several people to go over Christmas. I hate going anywhere but home though.

Do your burners run North-South or East-West? If North-South, run the left burners and do the ham on the opposite side in a baking pan exactly as you would in the oven.

Alright Gents,
Looking to replace my Charbroil grill with a grill smoker combo. Looking to spend no more than $500 (if possible) as it's just the wife and I and we don't do a lot of grilling to justify spending more. Any suggestions?

Go with a a straight smoker. Like FU BK said. I have an Oklahoma Joe's longhorn, and I can use it as normal grill if I want

The Webber Smokey Mountain can do well with both and I believe is around 300-500. I started with one of these until I upgraded to something that could handle more of my meat..........

Taking this a step further does anyone have any experience with a flat top grill and if they are worth it or as you guys have said just go with a smoker grill? I haven’t seen a good combo of them both.

I'm considering replacing my grill with a Blackstone. I've talked to a couple people that have them and they say they wouldn't go back. I'm not a smoker, so that's not really a concern for me.

But, I'm curious what others thing of their Blackstone type as well?

I don’t own a Blackstone, but I’ve looked at them pretty closely in stores. I honestly think that they are very overpriced and look to be made cheaply. They don’t warrant their price tag, but they’re all the rage still.

If you want to spend a little and get quality to match, I’d recommend Hasty Bake.
