Cameron smith was offered by USC today. We should offer soon.

His Hudl profile can't be right. 6'2" and 247lbs? He looks more 6'3" and 235lbs.

He looks like a thumper and a playmaker, but I'm not sold that he has the speed.

What sad times are these when top 40 receivers can commit to ND without IE even having a profile.

Cool, looks like a very solid get... odd he's never been discussed here.

Apparently played the young Ray Charles in the movie a few years back.

"If his child fame and his father's football career isn't enough, Sanders' mother played basketball at Michigan and his stepfather is Corey Harris, who played 12 NFL season and won a Super Bowl with the 2000 Baltimore Ravens. C.J. Sanders has led a pretty interesting life already, and now he has colleges lining up to give him a football scholarship."

He has offers from all the top academic D1 schools so I'm guessing academics are important to him. Considering the acting career and USC offer, I would have guessed he would have ended up there (assuming their offer was committable).

Actually going to USC would mean jack for an acting career. It's all about nepotism in Hollywood at all levels.

Anyhow, seems like a good fit. Go irish!

I am starting to wonder if the staff is holding back on info. because of the earlier leaks.

Great pick-up!

What did I miss?

Crawford ended up going to his track meet that Saturday rather than visiting, and some speculate that Fred Flinstone found out about the visit and talked him out of it.

I've never seen anything that said Crawford asked for his visit to ND to be a secret, and rivals and 247 reported it.

People blame Loy because it's the cool thing to do, but he and rivals were simply doing his job and Crawford never complained. The credit should go to Hoke for stopping potential visits, and if you really want to blame anyone, blame the ND staff for not pushing Crawford hard enough early on.

But I bet he ends up visiting at some point.

I have no idea what actually happened, and am not blaming anyone. But if some stuff that got out wasn't supposed to (as people have been saying), I would be fine with the coaching staff getting instruction to be more tight-lipped.

As for "their jobs," these guys are bringing us recruiting information, not actual news. They are not ethically compelled to bring us every scrap they get so we can make informed decisions about . . . I don't even know what.

Rule #1 in covering recruiting should be "Do no harm to Notre Dame."

That's fair, but there's no evidence that was the case with Crawford unless I'm missing something.

It's likely Hoke stopped the visit like he's done a dozen or more times. It's one thing he's good at.
