Watch some of his interviews, they make one cringe.

Looked up his old profile on here: 2.9 GPA, 17 on the ACT twice.

But then again, he may have stepped it up a notch at Florida and had some good grades in decent studies...

I can't even find smoke on a google search.

It sounds like a random *** post I bought into due to the familiarity I had with the recruit.

Mike Floyd is one of the most awkward interviews ever. Just finished his degree with a 3.4 GPA in his final semester.

can we stop bashing the perceived intelligence of a random college student?

For the record, I wasn't bashing Floyd. Just pointing out he isn't comfortable in interviews. He joked about it, Kelly joked about it, the whole team joked about it last year at the awards show.

I understood your point. I'm no posting angel but its just that the conversation seemed to be getting off topic and a little personal regarding this Story kid.

Sorry for getting off topic and I should have said that I think he would struggle if he came to ND. That's all. No worries and I think he's a nice kid but I don't see him fitting in at ND.

does awkward = perceived intelligence?

It does when someone says that the kid isn't very bright, then says that his interviews are evidence of that, and then posts an interview to use as evidence. Seems pretty obvious what was being said.

NYIRISH: I know what you meant I was just trying to steer it back, no worries bud.

So take if up with that poster in a PM, I for one thought it was awkward. I do agree with you that we should get back to the subject/thread at hand.

i'm your huckleberry ;)

Shumate should come first. Probably won't know anything until the mystery guy steps off campus. Sunday/Monday maybe?

wow... I leave for a few hours and I come back to read a bunch of grown adults making fun of the perceived intelligence of 17 year old kids. I am sure that all of you would have sounded like Rhode Scholars in your first taped interview at 17 years old. Pretty much every person on here never felt what it was like to be under the spotlight that these kids are under, but many of you are choosing to dog on a kid's intelligence from how he spoke in a interview after practice. These are kids... those of you making fun of them should be ashamed of yourselves. These comments seriously make me embarrassed to your peer.

TurningPoint - I like you dude, but if you ever wondered why you got under peoples skin before, look no farther then your post in this thread. Word to the wise... don't post up teasers to your "insider" info and then laugh at all of the guesses that everyone has. It is pretty convenient that most of the time you can post these cryptic posts and never have to actually prove how accurate your "insight" is. It must be nice just to be able to pop in after one of your predictions prove correct, but if there is no transfer after this week, are you planning on telling everyone what you thought was going to happen? The whole "man behind the curtain" persona some of our perceived insiders have is embarrassing.

I am flabbergasted right now...
