Where There's Smoke...

Where There's Smoke...

There's two huge Armstead boys.

Ja Sapp and Wiltfong are following up with concrete evidence. They said an interview would take place possibly later this evening.

He noted it could be premature rumors.

But then again, the old cliche could ring true.

In summary, no one has a clue who could be the possible "other" transfer. Armond is working through his own process right now.

Arnett?

Now I'm confused...

Armond is working on what kind of process? ND?

Arnett is going to a Michigan school. ND is out of the running.

Armond's transfer process/release is still up in the air.

Thanks buddy.

I wonder what will be revealed, if anything, by tonight.

Shumate and hopefully Wright will be next.

Rumors swirling about transfers in and out of ND. Crazy recruiting.

This is looking better, but I'll be a man of my word and still accept a v-buck bet of my 40,000 against anyone's 1 that Armstead does not end up at ND (I know 40,000 v bucks isn't much but it's what I have, lol). Have to send me the offer, though; I don't even know what a vbuck stands for. Go Irish!

Just a month of madness until signing day. Everything is so dynamically changing. New names seem to show up almost everyday.

Could the other guy be the QB that has/is supposed to be transferring in?

Recruiting is crazy right now. Recruiting is a very bad addiction for me. I really need to stay away from this board.

Here is my prediction assuming we have 6 spots left.

1.Shumate
2. Wright
3.Westerkamp
4.Armstead(arik)
5.Garnett/Ifeadi/Poole(order of likelihood)
6.Neal

Aren't we sitting third for Odenigbo?

And what about Armond Armstead? If he transfers, does that not use up a schollie?

The first three on that list are almost a given. The rest, imo, 100% toss-up.

My uneducated take on the Armond situation is this. Even if he takes up a scholarship, who cares? It's only for one year and we'd be bringing in a top 5 player in his brother and a potential starter in Armond. I'm sure the staff is willing to sacrifice a spot for Armond if it involved getting Arik. As far as who's next? Jordan Westerkamp.

hmmm, another interesting take on Armond would be "freeing" up a scholarship for next year. I'm pretty sure as it stands right now there would be spots for 16 or 17 recruits in the 2013 class, right? Not bad if you can have a NFL caliber Dlineman for one season and then have that spot be immediately available moving forward.

If all of these remaining pieces (I know I am dreaming) fall into place, where do you think this classs ranks in ND history?

This could be the class that is remembered for putting the program back on the map.

I think once Saturday rolls around and Shumate makes the right pick that will make me at ease about Wright. But with him visiting scUM, who know's what bs they will throw his way. Locking up Shumate will definitely be a factor.

Anyways, our DB's are shaping up quite nicely.

With Odenigbo looking unlikely, I hope we can fit Ekanem into that picture even though he is visiting pretty late in the process.

In my opinion, if you count last year's and this year's haul.... These two will be the classes that put us back.

I probably would agree. I also think recruits seeing a style of player (w/balls and swag) like Lynch at ND really helps in recruiting as well.
