Megan Mullen, Dan’s Wife: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com
According to the above link Mullen and his wife began dating while he was a coach at Bowling Green, which was 2001-2002 (as per his Wikipedia, below) and got married in 2005.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Mullen

But this September 2007 in the Orlando Sentinel identifies his other son being 4 years old, therefore he would have have been conceived in 2002-2003. Hence the claim of affair (although not extra-marital).

UF's Mullen lives football - tribunedigital-orlandosentinel

South Bend may be a little too close to home, as Mullen doesnt really acknowledge Rowan in any other interview or publication since this article. But thats just pure speculation.

That kid would be in high school now. Who knows.

And why would ND have anything on that list?

What is the rule regarding in home visits if a new coach comes in? Does he get a clean slate to make his pitch?

Well done. Megan Mullen also has delved into politics in MS (not sure to what extent) so she's definitely adapted to the area. Would she be open-minded & supportive enough to take on a once-in-a-lifetime career for her husband? (Assuming he'd be interested)

She's from Pittsburgh, maybe she wants to get closer to home? She'd inherit a lot of Pittsburgh kids in next year's class and Phil in '18. Seems like a good fit as her hubby's a QB coach.

I'd rather have Miles over DM, PJ, or that dude with a horrible overall record at Colorado. He links up with a good offensive mind (even Sanford) that could be a home run hire.

I'd rather have a guy who turned around two teams on the rocks than someone who slid into a winning situation and just continued it at LSU.

Would Ed O be a possibility for DC? He has the inside track on recruiting in and around the region. And he always seems to get the most from his players. They love playing for him. I would try to get Aranda first but would give Ed O a hard look if Aranda isn't available.

Is he willing to live north of the Mason Dixon?

Personally, I'd rather have most anyone... including Kelly... over Miles.

Why?

I'm not a miles fan, but he has a track record of being able to recruit and oversee great defenses. With the way ND has performed on the offensive side of the ball the last 10 years, I think if we had LSU defense once over that span we'd have a Championship. Even our 2012 defense that was great, LSU wasn't far behind. I'd take Miles to lead the program right now, as long as he had a good OC before I'd take anyone else we are talking about. If ND is considering UC Coach or Fleck, I also hope they keep BK

At this point there are issues that go well beyond wins and losses. The Kelly regime has been marked by annual academic suspensions, arrests, and now probation and vacating wins for 2012 and 2013. Kelly may not be personally responsible for all of these issues, but it is hard to question the fact that he has lost control of the program and the university's reputation has suffered as a result.

It is time to cut ties with Kelly. The first priorities are to re-establish control of the program and to re-establish the university's reputation as a beacon of honor and integrity. That cannot happen with Kelly remaining as coach.

I support the hiring of someone like Charlie Strong as our next coach, someone that will clean house and demand that things be done the right way. Charlie can bring in an innovative offense coordinator or Mike Sanford can stay on as offensive coordinator. The main goal of the next two to three year period should be to clean up the program. I will judge the first season a success if we can go through one year without academic suspensions or arrests. The talent is there to win, but it could be even better in two or three years under an energetic staff that is willing to recruit aggressively and demand that things be done the right way.

Outside of a couple good years at L'Ville, Strong is a pretty terrible HC. He will probably get one more HC gig somewhere before the football world realises he is nothing more than a good coordinator.

Since I think Kelly stays and looks like Herman is going to LSU can we swoop in on his d coordinator?

Or is he not worth the time?

I doubt Herman's current DC, Todd Orlando, wants to be demoted so maybe he'll be available. I think Herman will keep Aranda on board.

I dare anyone to watch PJ Flecks press conference for tomorrow's game against Toledo and try and tell me how he wouldn't make this program better and how he wouldn't make our players better on and off the field. I think the days getting a coach with a great resume at a power 5 school are done. This is where we need to look.

Agreed. I've liked him ever since he took over for Kiffen at USC. Though whenever his name has come up in connection with Notre Dame before people seem to think he'd be a terrible cultural fit.

Really? Why? Because there isn't one that jumps out right now? We're still a good step up from most P5 programs. I think we could have our pick of a lot of quality coaches. I can think of five off the top of my head I'd take over someone whose sum of college football experience outside the MAC amounts to a GA stint at Ohio State and a couple years coaching receivers at Rutgers. (I know he assistant'd in the NFL but that's a totally different job).

The off-field pressures of life at Notre Dame are a big deal, and can be a huge distraction if you're not comfortable with them. Kelly, like him or not, is actually really good at handling that stuff. Fleck? I think his act would wear thin right quick. And then what have you got? A guy who's never recruited at our level or coached against the sort of competition we play every week. I'm not sold.
