Does anyone seriously still believe in this guy? How do you not tell Malik the clock is going to run? He is an artist at coming up with ways to lose games.

We're looking at 4-8 against a pitifully easy schedule, in year 7 of the current regime. Totally unacceptable.

How about Matt Rhule at Temple? On his way to his 2nd 10 win season in 3 years at Temple. Always has a solid defense. Good shot to win the American conference this year as well. I say he will be coaching a power 5 school next year.

I am firmly in the fire him camp now. This team plays well below its capabilities. Poor play calling, fundamentals week after week. There is no leadership or emotion. Softest ND team in years.

Good by Brian Kelly.

If he is not fired the day after the USC game...I'll just give up.

Throw every thing and give Herman everything he wants.

A word to all the Herman dreamers, this just in:

Kansas 24 - Texas 21.

If Tom Herman's wasn't the HC-elect of UT since the OU loss as rumored, he is 100% after today.

Been saying this since Week 1 when people were asking for Herman to replace Kelly. Herman isn't coming here, never was, you're on the nose.

If one wants the definition of out coached, they saw it today. The entire second half, Va Tech's coaching staff made it look easy. Notre Dame deserves better.

This isn't new!!? This **** has been happening since last year and probably rooted deeper than just last year. We had studs last year that covered up coaching stupidity(not just DC). Jack...it's time

I'm personally at the point where I don't care about the buy out for Kelly's contract. I know it's the one thing saving Kelly at this point but if ND can get Fleck, Les, Macyntire, or any proven coach for around 5 mil a year they would be paying out the Same money Michigan is for Harbaugh. Now I know whoever the coach is he won't be Jim but I'm just wanting a good product on the field. I can take losses like the ones to Clemson, FSU, and even tOSU...I can not and will not accept losses to Tulsa, Navy, USF, NW, and losses like the ones we suffered this year. Even our wins for the most part under Kelly have left a lot to be desired. If he was willing to change he would have already done so. For the third time this season he lost two timeouts on one play in a critical part of the game. Can't complain about Mike's false starts, Mustipher's snapping, or other players short comings when their leader and mentor doesn't take accountability for his own. He needs to go.

Assuming Kelly leaves...which is a big assumption at this point, the one plus here (someone said it in an earlier post) is that the program is actually in a much better place than before Brian Kelly took it over. There is solid (but not spectacular) talent across the team and some of the prior issues coaches had with ND in terms of administration, training table, etc....are better. So, as frustrated as everyone is with Kelly.. I give him and Swarbrick credit for leaving the program in a much better place than when they walked in here.

All that being said, this remains a tough place to coach and that certainly doesn't help us out here. I hope we continue to hire coaches that have college experience (hopefully we learned from our past in hiring Davie and Weis) as a head coach. That being said the most proven coaches who don't have a job would be Les Miles or Art Briles. Can't see either of those happening...Briles given his sketchy past at Baylor and not sure Miles would be a good fit.

Like most everyone here, I think Tom Herman would be great - but ND would likely have to beat out Texas and LSU and others for his services. So, IF we can't get Herman I think we end up with an up and coming coach like Larry Fedora (UNC), Dana Holgerson (WVU), Fleck (WMU), Klawson (Wake Forest)... other interesting names would be David Cutcliff (Duke), Chip Kelly (SanFran) ,Gundy (OK State) and Jeff Brohm (WKU).

Herman would be a fool to go to tU. Austin thinks they are a tier 1 top dog of football and losing is inexcusable because they are so amazing. The pressure and expectations would be insane and unrealistic. He should know that.

LSU has a Cajun who looks the part and sounds like a local. He probably gets the job, despite a goal line flop today.

Herman isn't coming here though. Don't buy it.

There are plenty of non-Herman coaches who could come here and win. It's not Herman or bust. I think Les Miles would be a huge improvement.

What McIntyre has done at his last 2 stops is amazing. Plus he's a defensive guy. Offer him more than CU can. I'd be pretty awesome to poach a coach after winning a PAC 12 championship...
