Irish Envy
CNN
ESPN (mostly for fantasy football)
Drakemag
Anglinoutdoors
Ripple Guides
Linkedin
Instagram

I visit a lot of other sites for real estate, fly fishing and Notre Dame. But those are the only ones I visit on a daily basis. Linkedin, Instagram and CNN are all apps on my phone. But the rest are all just $hitter fodder.

If we are counting apps then Instagram is one of my tops as well. There are some great outdoors/fishing photographers on there.

I spend an unhealthy amount of time on reddit. Really has so much content that you could be on it all day

Can someone explain to me what Reddit is or how best to use it? It's one of the 'cool' sites that actually isn't blocked at my company.

It's a forum based website. The long and short is you can create a profile and subscribe to forums of interest. Your front page, is going to be the most popular subjects of the forums you've subscribed. If you don't have a profile and just go to reddit as a guest the front page is going to be filled with a bunch of stuff that probably doesn't interest you. So create a profile.

Within five months of graduating, I was $65,000 in debt. I now have zero debt and staying that way is something of a personal crusade. I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive about it. My household budget is micromanaged to the dollar. My wife loves it.

So there is no financial rewards other than the psychological impact of having to pay off every dollar you spend immediately? This essentially makes the dollars spent more real?

This really isn't sarcasm, I'm wondering if that would be a healthy practice to adopt. Or perhaps pay it off once/week.

Exactly correct. There's actually research that shows that spending cash triggers the pain center of the brain, an effect not seen when using credit cards. This combats that a bit.

It also helps me organization-wise. I update my household budget in real time so it doubles as my check register. By paying off the credit card immediately, my checking account stays synced with my rolling budget surplus.

I actually don't own a credit card.

Before anyone buts in... yes, I realize that I'm missing out on rewards. But I too refuse to spend any money that I don't have.

Then why don't you just spend the money you have, but use the card to do so, and get the points?

I realize that doing what you describe would provide a marginal benefit, but I prefer to not even have the option of spending too much. I know people that have started with the above attitude and were $10K in credit card debt 3 years later.

My parents also never had credit cards, so I guess it was just ingrained in me from a young age to stick to debit.
