Throw in an extra Dragon Warrior 3and 4 CIB and you got yourself a deal
Sure.

U like?I'm a big Pokemon guy, but Pikachu is too obvious a choice, so I'd probably give Ivysaur or Mewtwo a try as well.

[PIKACHU CONTROLLER]
I never understood the layout of those controllers... they seemed like the LCD fried cousin of the PS controller... lol
Looking at the character list for Smash Bros, and I'm kinda bummed that none of my favorite Fire Emblem characters are available to play... never played any of the Japanese-only releases, and didn't play "Awakening," so I'd probably have to settle for playing as Roy.

Gamecube controllers look like a robot puked on a boomerang.
The faux-GameCube controllers for Switch have the second shoulder button. They're one more shoulder button on the left side away from being the GOAT controller IMO. Edge to 360 controller as it stands, but the GC controller had so many cool touches.

Nope, they work on everything. The Switch actually detects them as Pro Controllers, not GC controllers. The only thing Switch detects as GameCube controllers are the ACTUAL Nintendo-manufactured controllers running through the adapter. But those only work on one game (Smash) correct? If not, I'd use that over the Pro Controller everyday.
I really like the Switch Pro thus far... it's funny because it's laid out like a non-crackhead version of that crazy cube controller in many ways but that GC always melted my mind when I tried to use it. Anyway, I recommend this for anyone playing on the Switch:

I'd be more ok with the Pro if it didn't make the primary select button on the side. Nintendo lost that battle and it's stupid that they keep doing it. The number of times I've backed out of things when I meant to hit ok...
No, "A."Are you referring to the 'home' button??
No, "A."
A/B are flipped, as are X/Y.
It's fine in gameplay because you can usually customize your way around it, but I agree it sucks in menus.Yes. The playstation x is where the xbox a is, but at least they're functionally the same so I can treat them interchangeably once they're in my hand. Then Nintendo comes in and is like "we have ANOTHER button set for you to memorize, but we're going to put the select button where a secondary button usually goes, and put the cancel button where the select button usually goes." Thanks, I hate it.
Cuphead. This game is a work of art.
Surprised wizards hasn't been all over this, given the classic Disney aesthetic.
My best man is mailing me this plug and play usb drive you put in a psclassic... supposedly this thing has atari 2600, 7800, lynx, TG16, gb, gbc, gb advanced, nes, snes, virtual boy, 32x, gamegear, master system, genesis, neo geo, & neo geo pocket. All w near complete catalogs. Ps1, sega cd, pc engine cd w limited library and a massive collection of arcade emulators. Each with hacks and cheats easily usable. He claims it’s the best collection he’s ever come across and just hit me up with it today because he ‘just had to share this’,... I bought the classic on the way home for twenty bucks so we will see. I’ll report back once it’s in hand but he’s never let me down before so I’m inclined to believe him.
...he said, not giving us his Odyssey review
I liked it! Played a ton while my family was out of town. Hit level 50, killed probably 70% of the cultists, started the Spartan portions of the main questline, etc. Took a break once my family returned and I gained access to the Switch again.
Pros:
- Gorgeous recreation of ancient Greece. The core gameplay isn't that interesting (fetch this thing, kill that guy, weaken Faction A, etc.), but the fact that each individual island was brought to life with incredible detail kept me coming back for more.
- Naval battles are fun, and upgrading the Adrestia/ recruiting legendary lieutenants always felt good. Sort of like the Batmobile portions of Arkham Asylum.
- Scouting with Ikaros is a cool mechanic.
- Each weapon type having different strengths/weaknesses and unique combos added a lot of depth to combat. I ended up favoring Staves, Overpower Attacks and Poison.
Cons:
- The modern-day/Animus frame for the storyline is garbage. I get the impression that's the case for every AC game, but I audibly groaned every time it popped me out of ancient Greece to suffer through some stale dialogue between the relic-hunting "Assassins".
- It's easy to get overwhelmed with quests. As a completionist by nature, I take every quest I come across. But so many of them are randomly generated, not remotely close to where I'm currently focused, and on a timer (!)... so several "expire" out every time I fire up the game, and my quest log is now pretty unwieldy.
- Ubisoft decided to make Epic items strictly superior to Legendary items, so hunting for best-in-slot gear is tedious. There's a spot in Arkadia with two blacksmiths located close together that can farmed for specific epics via repeated reloading, but I haven't had the patience yet to do it.
- Long loading times. I would have already farmed the gear I want if it didn't take so long to reload. Similarly, I'd like to jump around the map more often, but the load times associated with fast traveling are too punitive. For instance, there's a particular engraving I can only get by obtaining a legendary dagger (Dionysos' Tears) that isn't included in the base game. I refuse to pay Ubisoft $5 for it, so my only option is to get it from the Oikos of the Olympians via orichalcum. But it takes so long loading in and out to just check the shop in Phokis that I rarely ever do it. Can't afford to waste ~10m of my limited playtime that way.
I've enjoyed the game and will definitely finish it soon, so thanks for the recommendation. I'm just a little disappointed that the "cons" listed above will likely prevent me from truly min-maxing the thing and enjoying a 2nd playthrough on New Game+ Nightmare.
