I've been playing GTAV. Trying to beat it tonight or tomorrow so I can start AC: Syndicate over the weekend and put a decent dent in that. Want to finish that by next Thursday night before the new one drops.

Spent hours on repeated attempts to steal the Laserjet from Fort Zancundo. I wanted to park that thing in my hangar and wreak havoc from the skies. Also, wanted to be able to travel to the corners of the map at warp speed.

After like three days of attempts, I finally discovered the trick: Just use the "look back" button after you get in the jet and fly away, and the SAMs at the base won't shoot you down, nor will the other jets.

Could've saved myself hours if I knew that from the start lol.

Hey video-game/soccer nerds, how much worse than FIFA is Pro Evolution Soccer?

An FC Cincinnati fan made a legit copy of FCC to import into the game. The players are all rated *accurately* to match their real-life skills/attributes (obviously leveled up so it is somewhat competitive to play with the team at the championship level in the game), they look dead-on their real-life counterparts, and the stadium is designed to mirror what FCC will build if they get a bid to MLS.

It's actually pretty wild how well this guy recreated the team. I'd get a kick out of figuring things out while using FCC, but never tried PES. Just had FIFA back in '13 and '14.

It's about that time for me to post my yearly message of...

"Hey guys, I think I'm finally going to build a gaming/multi-use PC"...

Tom's Hardware has never steered me wrong. Just select a system within your budget and order.

Thanks Whiskey, i was watchign a lot of build videos on da tubez and I was readign through Tom's as well. Glad to hear an endorsement. What are your thoughts on the new AMD Kyzen architecture? I think it may offer me more since I'm not a hardcore gamer and I don't want to pay extra for the new Intel offerings

It's been many years since I followed this stuff closely enough to adequately answer that question, but I've always been partial to AMD over Intel.

Well that escalated quickly. I finally have a bunch of parts on the way to my home.
Sprung for the Ryzen 7 CPU. Excited to put this together, also finally selling my XBone since I don't use it. I've wanted to try PC gaming for a long time but this coming winter is the best excuse I have.

PES is cool because you can easily add stadiums and teams and such but it's just got no where near replay value of FIFA... even on the hardest settings is crazy easy after a while and the career mode just doesn't live up to FIFA's at all... I'd love to be able to import stadiums and kits and such to FIFA the way you can PES though.

The COD franchise is everything you hate most about video games. Literally your worst case scenario.

Me specifically?

Nah I like the campaign and my wife and oldest daughter have always played Nazi Zombie together... I still have and still play COD World at War, Black Ops and Black Ops 2... Zombies is also one of the favs of my college buddies when we all get together, even now.

Modern COD is 99% online multiplayer and riddled with DLC.

Yeah I haven't played it much since BO2 but it's still a WW2 game with zombies... I'm sure it won't have wall walking and robots so I'm in. I've been starving for another Normandy to Berlin game for years. I'll get enough out of offline play I'm sure. I will say I hope it has offline multiplayer split screen like the Black Ops games had though... again, something I still play tons of with my family and friends (I like to look the person in the eye when I'm talk smack... this cat is old school).

Stardew Valley is out on Switch now and its only $15. I've heard great things about this game, and now that its on switch and i can play it in handheld mode i think i have to take advantage of this deal. Has anyone else played it yet?
I first purchased Stardew Valley on my PC, played it for a handful of hours, and then kind of forgot about it, but enjoyed what I played. Then, when I heard it was released on the PS4, I had the realization that it might be fun to play while lounging in front of my TV. Ended up putting 100+ hours into the game and unlocked all the trophies. And then I heard the Switch version was released, and I thought, man, this is the perfect game to play on my break at work.

Outside of a few technical issues at launch (which stemmed from the fact that the launch version was the vanilla version of PC Stardew Valley), the Switch version is a solid port. It's such a fine blend of SNES Harvest Moon and GC Animal Crossing.

So it was gonna be a limited open world. But then EA people were like "Skyrim was so hot a year ago" and so now it's gonna be a full open world? I'm okay with a delay if it means an actual, fully open Star Wars world.

I will be spending the evening playing Mario Odyssey.

I'll be playing Assassin's Creed: Syndicate all night and all day tomorrow, until Amazon delivers AC: Origins.

That's not what's happening. They were going to make a single player Star Wars game like Uncharted with one of Naughty Dog's best writers. Instead they killed that project and are shifting towards making a multiplayer Star Wars game like Destiny. They are attempting to spin this as a good thing, but in reality this is EA sinking a promising project because it didn't have the signs of being conducive to microtransactions or loot boxes.

Always. Be. Monetizing.

Watch this be the factor that red pills our generation against capitalism.

I would HAPPILY spend $120 for a Bethesda-scope KOTOR 3. I'd pay another $40 for DLC on par with Knights of the Nine.

Most people wouldn't and sales would reflect that. I realise development costs continue to climb while the retail prices have remained stagnant, but 120 is asking way too much. $80-90 with no microtransaction nonsense and I'd more than happily pay.

I disagree. Even if units sold took a hit, they'd have to fall by more than 50% to offset a 2x price tag. I don't see that happening for a fully fleshed-out open-world Star Wars RPG, especially when Battlefront came with a $50 season pass that got you little more than multiplayer maps.
