So my 1 year old son found a way to reach a cord and pulled my PS4 off the TV stand. Now the HDMI pins are all bent and the system is essentially a brick. I've only had the thing a little over a month, looks like I'm sending it back to Sony. Redheads...they're trouble.

So, I just sent my PS4 away to Sony to see if they'll fix it. They'll probably come back and say that it's not covered because it isn't normal wear and tear, who knows though. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping everything goes well.

As it turns out, and after a bit of research, the PS4 HDMI port is actually made from crap. The design is flawed from what people are saying online, because the pins in the port are not secured at the back very well and they can be bent very easily or pushed out the back all together. It looks like busted HDMI ports are the #1 issue PS4 owners encounter. Most owners won't have any issues at all, but if you are in the 1% then you'll probably encounter an issue. Be extra careful when you're unplugging your HDMI cords, and if you do have an issue and you're out of warranty, you may want to contact this guy and get a port upgrade:

Got my new system built and have been playing Dead Island, Dead Island: Riptide, F.E.A.R. 1, 2, and 3, the Crysis series, the Far Cry series and others. It's great to be able to play the new games without any lag.

Now I have a question.

I just bought 4 new 140mm case fans. I'm using 2 for intake on the side of the case, and 2 on top for exhaust. My motherboard only has 4 headers, and I can't hook up the intake fans on the side. I'm trying to find a splitter (or 2) that will allow me to plug the fans into the headers. The fans are 3-pin and the headers are 4-pin. My understanding is that there shouldn't be too much of a drop-off in fan speed.

If anyone know where I can get the splitters, I'd appreciate it.

Saw a trailer for Black Ops 3 Zombies and it had giant zombie bees and a huge Resident Evil looking octopus monster thing.... and I think I'm done here. I'll pass, why can't they just not mess with a good thing?? Zombie mode is for zombies numb nuts, not comic book villain rejects.

Got my PS4 back yesterday. Very quick turn around considering they received it last Thursday, it took less than 5 business days for them to fix it and send it back. The downside is they wiped my hard drive. Not a big deal, I only had a month's worth of saved games on there, and they did warn me to back up my saved data before sending it (Couldn't really do that since the HDMI port was busted). Didn't cost me a penny though, which was nice since it was my fault really that the port got jacked up (Even if it was a cheap design to begin with). Shipping was free both ways too.

What I gather from this video:

1. Hell yes.

2. It looks like there are certain conditions to access the "Hero" ship. If you're playing as the Rebels and you're about to win, you get to pilot the Millennium Falcon to destroy the transport. I assume that if you play as the Empire and you're about to win, you get to pilot Slave I to finish the battle.

3. Not impressed with some of the graphics of explosions, but I can't even imagine how hard it is to make that stuff look good, and I'm sure it will improve before release.

4. I love how fast-paced the action looks. In my experience with flight simulators, the speed is scaled down to make it easier on the user. This does not appear to be the case here.

Turns out I didn't lose all my saved data after I sent my system away for repairs. Just happened to check Playstation Plus, they had a save of my Payday 2 game file up there, everything intact. I never actually made a save, they must have done it automatically. Sony is awesome.

Yeah if you're a ps plus user they auto save your files to the cloud unless to turn the feature off...

I enjoy good survival/crafting sandbox games. Started with Minecraft I guess, but I've also tried Rust, 7 Days to Die, Life is Feudal, and a few others.

Just got a new Early Access one called Empyrion. It's pretty new and still kinda basic, but has a lot of great features. It's space based, you start off on a mostly desert style planet with a crashed escape pod and some basic supplies. You have just minutes to create an Oxygen source to survive on the planet, find a few food rations that are stored away before you have to scour for sustainable food on the planet, and create a shelter. Once you've got basic survival taken care of you can mine the surrounding area with mining lasers to improve your weapons, or search alien ruins or other crashed ships for supplies. You can then either build a new craft to enter space again or repair your existing ship. They just have a few planets to start with, but they plan on adding more. It's a lot like Space Engineers except with less engineering and more survival (Plus you can enter/exit planet atmosphere). There's no servers that I know of as of yet, they haven't really implemented them. Multiplayer is achieved through direct connection to another client.

Do any of you guys collect games? I am trying to get into building my SNES collection but I'm having a hard time finding deals. Any tips?

I used to, but I'm out of practice the last 10 years. I've still got an NES collection of over 600 games though.

If you're serious about it, there's a number of roads you can travel. Flea markets are some of the best places you can get games at a decent price. I'm not sure what the Philly scene is like, but in south-western Ohio we've got 3 flea markets that are within 30 minutes of each other. Some people will charge outrageous, Ebay prices for games, and others will charge very little for rare games because they have no idea what they're worth. The hunting part is the fun part, because when you do find a rare gem listed for $5 in someone's bin, that makes it worth it. I wouldn't go to the flea market every weekend, but you get to know the vendors that do sell games and if you deal with them long enough you can often talk them down on prices if you're buying multiple games. I probably got 75% of my collection from flea markets. We found a Caltron 6 in 1 NES cart at a flea market one time, we paid $3 and it's worth hundreds, finds like that are awesome (I've still got that one too).

As far as the rest of my collection, I obtained the rest either through friends, garage sales, and old video rental places that were phasing out their old video game stock. It helps if you know other collectors, because sometimes they'll want to sell off extra copies in their collections, or they know places they like to frequent that sell games too. I had a good buddy that got me into collecting NES games, and after he stopped collecting he would come across games all the time and would pick them up for me. I also bought 10 games or so off Ebay just because I never saw them in the wild and they were well priced. One game I did buy from Ebay for my collection was a Cheetahmen 2 sealed for $100. I thought maybe that was a stupid move years ago, but today that one will go for $300-600.

Does he play at a hundred miles a minute? Slow the game down... Pass, pass, pass back, pass some more... Frustrate him by keeping it away... Also play a five defensive back set and set your tactics to defensive minded...

Booooooring.

Counter-attacking. Bomb it behind the defense and get your goals on breakaways. Solves your tendency to over-shoot because most of your shots become chips. You'll never score Camp's way because it exacerbates your two problems. The field become compressed so you'll lose the ball in the box, and you'll need full-powered shots to score, which you said you struggle with.

Isn't the defensive-minded tactic specifically set up so your guys don't counter? Counter is its own thing, right?
