FIFY. Let's not act like you aren't in that group as well

Hey, I don't troll people and I most certainly don't take stabs at people because of their opinions. If I dislike something, I say something about it; that's it.

I almost feel like I need to defend myself, because to just wither away and let the mob run rough shod is bull. This should be a forum where one can express themselves. I don't cower to internet tough guy mentalities. Sure am getting a lot of blow back for it though.

Thanks for the neg. You've proved my point.

This is 100% Whiskey's fault. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing when posting a video of a dog walking to school in a thread with random stuff: Start a firestorm of panic.

Instead of worrying, I for one welcome our new canine overlords.

Your sarcasm is actually greatly appreciated.

I didn't care for the meme, not knowing that it was a meme. The rest is just me taking a bunch a flack and me not just taking it quietly.

There must be something else interesting going on somewhere..

You misinterpreted and threatened to neg one of the cleanest and most prolific posters on the board. We all viewed you as being incorrect and had fun with it in a mostly light-hearted manner without ad hominems.

I'm not sure how else that could've been handled. Maybe we could create an IE "Safe Space" thread where people can post things and others can't argue with them?

I'm curious who you've labeled as conservative? And what criteria you use to define conservative.

This is incorrect. I never threatened, but I appreciate your attempt to amplify. I started a post with, and I quote, "I almost neg'd".

There is no need for a "safe space", although I also appreciate your placation.

I have been more than content to move on multiple times, it's been this piling on phenomenon that has perpetuated things along with my unwillingness for people to have their way by brute force.

Homey don't play that.

So which is it? Do you want to move on or do you want to continue to be combative?

A joke went completely over your head and you overreacted even if the "insult" had been directed at you. Most people would just say "woops my bad lol" and move on. Instead you somehow blamed the situation on conservative posters? Lol

I'm content to move on, but I'll most likely also be reactive to any posts directed at me.

Myself (x2), Wiz and SteelHead all had good posts to leave this to rest, but then someone would have to come pile on.

It really grinds my gears.

Apparently homey don't know how to play.

Thanks for the correction, you didn't threaten. You made apparent your dissatisfaction with a post in a thread titled, "Thread of the Random".

We already had our way by brute force: we brute force joked and laughed and moved on.

I am not a tough guy and I only occasionally intend to be passive-aggressive on da netz. I wasn't being that in any of my posts towards you, I was being blatantly dismissive of your internet sadz and trying to poke, not punch.

Really hope you have a good beer and some delicious food and try to imagine there was nothing political. Then imagine people weren't trying to be asshats, instead they were having fun on an internet forum when one of the posters misinterpreted a post.

People who view themselves, and their time, as overly-important, even in email communications.

Yesterday, I was in a group email about some small issue that didn't merit any debate or discussion. It was just a "letting you know!" email that I sent.

Everyone was "Cool!" in acknowledging they received the update, but one faculty member (who I've mentioned in here before) felt the need to debate the original message, despite it not being her expertise, nor her decision.

It was literally just a courtesy that she was included, and she knew it, so she interjected because she views herself as the Czar of our operation, and isn't worthy of mere courtesy; she must be involved in all final decisions, even outside of her purview.

The kicker: In her final email, where she was forced to admit defeat, she KNEW she had a bunch of typos, which is her way of showing us just how busy she is. Rather than taking the 15 seconds to fix the typos, she took the time to type "oops on typos" at the end of her email, as a way to show us that her time is too valuable to clean up her communications.

So I'm not sure this goes here but didn't know where else to put it:

So our campus is expanding and there is a ton of construction, including in my hallway so it's been loud as all get out... and then this morning a body is found dumped behind one of our buildings, homicide... and now a bunch of OTHER sites on campus are closed off... it's been a crazy day to say the least.

The whole of the "Medical Care-Insurance Cabal" Fuck-Up.

I've been trying, since early December, to have a procedure to deal with my PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) that limits my life a great deal.

This is something that affected my paternal grandfather, my father and my brother. I smugly thought I'd dodged a bullet until something slammed the window when I was 53. I knew the drill. Volleyball twice a week, riding my bike and cross country skiing were out of the question

I had a "Fem-Pop"bypass that I was told would be good for seven to ten years. Bullshit.

Three years later it was a problem yet again. Walking more than a block was a no-go.

I put up with it, since the discomfort had subsided and plateaued for a few years, but it came roaring back. The (new) surgeon's advice was to "come back in four months."

In the meantime I got a cane and dealt with it. Fast forward a bit.

I'm now in FL rather than MN. In early December of 2016 I started what I thought would be smooth path to getting surgery. Nope.

My Primary Care Provider referred me to someone in the same Health Care Group. Tests were taken. The results were sent to the wrong place. In early May I was referred to, and made an appointment with a Cardiovascular surgeon. Duplicate tests were taken. The surgeon's decision was that I see him again in six months --- Six Fucking Months!

Their testa confirm what I know to be true – that I have severely reduced blood flow to my left leg and foot and that it's now effecting my right leg. Oh, and some "noise" was detected in my right carotid artery. We're talking stroke territory here.

This is not an AC vs AHCA rant. It spans the gamut – pre and post "ObamaCare." It's the fucking system!

I was about to go ballistic on surgeon #2 (were I able to get through to him) when the first surgeon's office called (the one that did the initial tests) saying that they'd neglected to schedule a follow-up visit.

No shit, Sherlock! With luck (and possibly some yelling on my part) will aid them in getting their shit together. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Thank you for your patience with this patient.

I hope to. A huge part of the frustration is that my Primary Care Physician and the two surgeons are all part of the same medical care group.

They have offices within 50 yards of each other. There's a serious, fundamental inability to effectively communicate with each other and with me. Hell, surgeon #2, who refused to rely on the testing of surgeon #1's tech is in suite 200 while surgeon #1 is in suite 300 – of the same damn building!

Stomp on the floor. Bang on the pipes. Send an e-mail or text. Pick up the phone.

Hell, talk to each other in the paring ramp or in the elevator!

Thanks, #1. I have an appointment with surgeon #1 on June 6th. I hope for the best ... and that I won't land in jail for disturbing the peace and felonious assault.

I'd pay good money to see dshans hit someone with his cane. Especially if he's correcting his grammar while doing it.

Just post my bail when it happens.

"The Cane" is light weight aluminum (and can be folded into a handy-dandy size that fits in a carry-on bag) so would do little damage.

I'll go find it so I can whack myself for not catching a few of my recent typos.

Oh, and just for the record and my rep, the idiom is toe the line, not tow the line.

I suppose that one could "tow" the company/party line, but just where would you be dragging it? And for what purpose?

We may be onto something here. We make a hurrycane that breaks down into a pair of nunchucks. The triangle base doubles as a throwing star.

Wanna go do karate in the garage?

Yup. My sister is like this. She'll say that she hates drama, yet all of her friendships are filled with drama...she hasn't picked up on the common denominator.
