I just use the basic. Maybe they've changed it, but I know at one time you could see job listings with the basic.

I crack up when I see invites to link up from people I don't know.

They put a monthly cap on how many times you can search for people or look through companies employees. You hit the cap and it stops letting you see people's names.

For semi-recent college grads looking for employment, those invitations to "connect" on LinkedIn are like cruel and unusual punishment. You always hope that it's finally gonna be the magical savior with the dream job offer, but it's really just some middle-aged dude with male-pattern baldness who just wants every connection he can get.

LinkedIn can suck a bag of dicks. The full membership is like 400 dollars a year. What??? The only people that would need all the bells and whistles are the people that are trying to find a job, those are the exact people that don't have $400 to burn on a Facebook knockoff.

Those memberships are designed for recruiters and staffing departments at large companies. They're looking to capitalize on those with deep pockets searching for talent, not the poor schmucks between jobs.

What makes it really irritating is getting transferred 3-5 times per call and having to recite my account number, address and phone number every !@#$%& time!!!!

I've got to say, it's so terribly awesome to be ridiculed for voicing disdain. This board has a lot of aggressive and passive-aggressive, mostly politically conservative posters that harbor this pseudo-tribalism that lets them leverage their majority into being complete assholes.

It's a major turn off. And quite a shame at that. A pox on the best Irish board on the internet.
